Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cold weather Parka for cold weather I bought this last year and did two trips to karakoram into the glacier travels and to 7000er base camps, and at night winds would howl at 15 kmph(10 miles per hour) to whooping 40 kmph (27 mph) on malangutti glacier at 3700m (roughly 14000 ft). The parka is so good that at 0C i kept the front of the parka open as it was toasty warm inside. However i did cover the jacket with greenland wax to save from the freezing rain. I am completely sold out to Fjallraven yupik, it always goes where i go and carry it as a lifesaving item rather than just a parka on my back. Just have one thing which would be lovely is two shoulder straps so that i can wear it during longer walks and treks. except that it is an awesome piece of gear that NO ONE should be without in the extreme temperatures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and functional Great parka that I bought for the 2017-18 winter season. Very warm, not bulky, and plenty of pockets for storage. I've gotten several comments from people about the parka's style. I'm generally a medium, and got a smaller size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST EVER I bought this jacket for my grandson who will be attending college in September ...in a very cold climate! He is beyond excited with this jacket, has worn it a few times recently, and joyfully tells me that it is, without question, the warmest jacket he has ever had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable This is a quality jacket. It has kept me warm through consistent -5f temperatures this winter. Very comfortable. Lots of pockets. Nicely adjustable. The only thing to note is that this runs a little big. I'm normally a medium and this jacket in a small fits nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Coat Purchased a small and a medium, I usually wear a medium in everything, but I was concerned it wasn't going to fit properly since others have said the sizes run small, but turns out a medium is perfect for 5'8". The build quality is amazing, and the attention to detail is superb. Many pockets, and the coat works well down to -2 degrees F. I haven't been anywhere colder at the moment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great weight, pockets, and warmth! I got this coat for my boyfriend and he LOVES IT. I was iffy because it’s expensive, but it’s really worth the money. It has so many pockets and the hood is so warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and functional This has kept me warm in this years frigid Northeast winter and the amount of pockets help me store my gloves, hat, and valuables when trekking back inside. Highly recommend for warmth and functionality, this jacket has made me a Fjallraven fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Cozy This Parka is absolutely amazing. Not only is it warm, it's functional and not too oversized if you don't zip the zipper and just button the buttons. I haven't felt a lick of wind using this in Chicago where it's currently -4 degrees farenheight (and windy). I doubt I'll ever own another coat again after buying this one. I was a little trepidatious due to the price, but spread over the what I predict to be a long life of the jacket, it's not so bad for the quality you receive.

My son is 6'1" weighs about 190. He normally buys a Large, any suggestions on size?

Asked by: Joann
Hey Joann, This jacket fits pretty true to size so I would suggest the size that your son matches up to based on Fjallraven's size guide. Fjallraven tends to have a more relaxed fit with their gear, so if he is between sizes I would size down.

I am looking at the "mountain grey" but it looks like it has a green color tint to it in the pictures. Is this correct? Does it look a little green in person?

Asked by: sman333
Hey sman333, Wonderful question. I agree that our stock photo washes this color out a bit. I am looking at it in person, and it is definitely a grey color with no green tint. Hope this helps!

How does the fur remove from the hood? Is it a zipper, buttons, or is it hook and loop?

Asked by: Mitch
Hey Mitch, The fur on this hood is removed by zipping it off. I hope this helps.

I am 1.80 and 74 kg. Does this make me a large or medium size

Asked by: andreas
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! If I had a nickel for every question I had about sizing....let me tell you Andreas....I'd have a butt-load of nickels. So, unfortunately, knowing your weight and height doesn't give us enough information. (I assume that's what you sent us....we're American, so we use POUNDS for weight and FEET for length! It may be archaic...but no one's stopping us.) Regardless, no matter how you measure it, weight and height isn't enough. I would suggest measuring your chest and then checking out the size guide for this item. It'll be be nuzzled twxt the size and color drop down. From that, you'll be able to ascertain exactly what you need! Hope this helps you out. Hugsies!

I've read in many reviews that this is one of the warmest coats by Fjallraven. Is there a women's version of this coat? Which of your coats for women comes closest to being as warm and windproof as this coat?

Asked by: regina
Hey there, Fjallraven does make a parka that is the Women's equivalent to this, the Nuuk Parka. It has the same materials and insulation as the Yupik, but with the shape and fit designed for a women as well as some minor stylistic differences. If you are looking for very warm coats, the Nuuk as well as the Fjallraven Women's Kyla Parka (which has the same style as this one but with down insulation rather than synthetic) would be a great choice.

Just received the parka. Loveeeeeeeee it! But could not find instructions how to care for it. Dry clean only or machine wash cold?

Asked by: Letsgoarctic
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! There should be a tag inside the Fjallraven Yupik Parka showcasing five funky looking laundry symbols. This is what they mean: Machine Wash in Cool Water Do Not Dry Clean Do Not Bleach Do Not Tumble Dry Iron or Steam Dry with Low Heat Hope this helps you out.
