Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

DisappointedI really wanted this anorak to work. Based on the reviews and advice from Moosejaw, I got a medium. My chest is 40”, waist is 36”, 6’3” 180 lbs. Medium should have been a no-brainer especially since I have a lot of medium (and large) Fjallraven jackets that fit great. Unfortunately, having room in the torso doesn’t mean much if your shoulders are wide enough such that getting your arms into the sleeve holes once you’ve pulled it over your head is next to impossible, especially with a sweatshirt on. The cut of the sleeve holes just isn’t right, they’re too much on the front of the anorak and not enough to the side of the garment. Study the picture and you might see what I mean. Also, rezipping the side zippers once you have the anorak on can be difficult if you have hand mobility issues. Finally, there’s no insulation in the anorak and it’s basically only a shell (which unfortunately isn’t waterproof, only water resistant). So layers are essential if you plan on using the anorak in cold weather. The bulk of the layers complicates the size/shoulder problem. The anorak looks great with typical Fjallraven ruggedness but it just doesn’t fit me. Or fit my needs. So I sent it back.

Best Jacket you'll buyI researched for months and even tried it on in the Fjallraven store to get the size, then waited another month till I actually pulled the trigger. Great deal here on Moosejaw. Size down for sure. I got a medium and I'm a 44 chest. Super comfortable to wear and so tough and rugged. Spend the money as it will last as long as you do.

Chuck Norris for TrekkingSizing: So glad I listened to the other reviews and sized down. For reference: I'm 6'2", 195 lbs. 44" chest, 35" waist. Medium fits perfectly with plenty of room to layer underneath. If you want something to fit over an especially thick layer like a full down coat, you may want your normal size.
Design: If you are familiar with the Fjallraven G-1000 fabric, that's what this is for most of the item, with the more durable version for strategic places of higher wear--the seat, the shoulders, elbows.
The hood is HUGE, but highly adjustable. Love the additional option of the button-close storm flap in front. Nice that it has the option to button back inside the collar when not in use. The G-1000 fabric tends to be pretty easily shaped, and the wire rim on the hood is awesome for getting just the right wind and water protection while keeping visibility high and comfort working well.
Great pocket designs, including the option for a closed pocket inside the large kangaroo pocket if you are packing and running the front backpack strap through the kangaroo pocket from the sides. Well thought design. I appreciate the larger leather pulls that are easy to use with gloves/mittens. Also really appreciate the waist cinch inside, which take a boxy fit and gives the option of something more flattering if you have an athletic build.
Note that if you are looking for a WATERPROOF shell, this is not it. When waxed it is water resistant, but a constant downpour will still get you wet. This is burly, windproof, and plenty of protection in a light or passing rain shower.
Quibbles, for the record: None of these are enough to cost a star, but in full disclosure I have to mention them. First is the color. The stock photo looks very two-tone, tarmac and grey. The actual item is a less pronounced two-tone, dark and light tarmac. I actually like the scheme in person better, but the stock photos with the actual model are closer to the real colors. Second, the side zippers. Great that they are bidirectional so they can be opened up for getting the anorak on and off and also zipped open for ventilation while keeping the waist line connected. What I don't understand is why they are the same small-gauge and likely to break weight as the pockets. The neck/hood zip is a great heavy duty and burly construct--on a garment this high end, why wouldn't you make the size zips the same? There will be lots of stress on them as the anorak is pulled on and off--it seems like a design miss. Third, and this is minor, the waist cinch is a bit goofy. Sort of a cotton cord cinch that doesn't manipulate easily. Seems to stay in place fine, but given the fact that you have to mess with it under your arms I would expect something that could be operated better one-handed.
Use: I will use this as both a trekking item in cooler weather and as a ski anorak for those days when it's not too wet. Has a fantastic burly and throwback style to it, and doesn't look like you just picked it up at the tourist shop in the base area.
Five stars all around, just note the sizing and keep access to a separate rain shell if that's your purpose.

Quality product, large sizesOrder a size down, I’m 6,1 and 95kg and the large is pretty big everywhere except the shoulders. Normally would order an XL but glad I didn’t after reading the other reviews here even though fjallravens sizing chart said a L would be too small for me. It’s a great shell to wear over other layers, you get what you pay for that’s for sure.
Would you recommend this jacket for Snowboarding? Im sure layering underneath would be necessary.

The Fjallraven Men's Anorak No. 8 is described as a quintessential garment for an explorer in cold weather. The fabric is water resistant, and breathable. While it could be used for snowboarding I think that it might be a little bit on the heavy side weighing in at 40.7 oz. I hope that this helps.

Would this anorak work well as a rain jacket by itself during the summer?

Hey Benji, thanks for the question! The material make up of this jacket does not make it very breathable at all. Depending on where you will be spending your summer, I would suggest going for a jacket that has a bit more breathability, to keep you protected from the rain but also stay cool. Sorry about that, but I hope this helps!
