I’ve personally customized mine with embroidery and I can tell you the material it’s made out of is thick. Fjallraven products in general are high quality, but I’d recommend getting yourself a kånken!

Hi there! I'm really hoping to get an authentic Kanken backpack. Before I purchase, can you confirm that Moosejaw is an authorized dealer for Fjallraven?

Hello, I just used the link above to verify if Moosejaw is an authorized retailer of Fjallraven products and, not only does Moosejaw NOT show up in the store locater link...it shows that it is NOT AN AUTHORIZED retailer in the "verify reseller" search box. This is troubling as I purchased a Kanken backpack from this site. Does this mean my Kanken is fake??

Hey, I want to use this bag for school, but I'm not sure if it would be able to fit all the books and things I would need. I oredered this bag somewhere else and it was so small. Is this backpack about the same size as a normal school bag would be?

From my experience, there are fake Kankens that are between the mini size and classic.  The classic fits my high schoolers books and binder. The fake midsize one doesn’t. The mini will not for sure. It’s about the size of the Jansport mini backpacks.  I think the classic will be great for school binders and books.

I'm replacing my Fjallraven 15" laptop bag (purchased a couple of years back from Moosejaw), and was wondering whether or not this bag would fit a 13" laptop comfortably?

Hey BrittW, good question! The original Kanken bag is 15" x 10.6" x 5.1"; so knowing that, you should have just enough room in there somewhere for a 13" laptop. Hope this helps!

Can anyone tell me if this bag is real or not? Because ive ordered a bag from here before, and it didnt have the original swedish flag that is supposed to come in every authentic bag. I wondered if there was a reason some do have it and some dont.

Hiya celetubbies, thanks for your question! Hmmm... We are an official retailer of Fjallraven products. I wasn't aware that every bag included a flag. My bag didn't include one (I ordered it directly from Fjallraven) and I did a poll around the office... we're Kanken groupies around here... and they didn't receive one either. Some received Swedish Fish with their pack, but no flag. :( I will look into this and see if and when Fjallraven discontinued the flag freebie. If you have any further concerns about the authenticity of your pack, I would contact Fjallraven directly at (855) 996-3746. I'm sorry I don't have more information for you!

Is the material the same for all colors? Because it seems like the acorn color and the sand color have a different shape/fabric

Hey, thanks for the question! As someone who has multiple Kanken's in several colors, I can confidently say that every color option is made of the same fabric. Some of the images are photographed differently and also the zipper placement while closed will affect the bag shape. There is no material difference :)
