Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than an air mattress, plush n' comf I developed severe chronic pain a few years ago and reluctantly sold my Thermarest Trail Pro. Camping has been out of the question. Worse, it kills me to sleep on air mattresses when visiting people inside. Travel and camping were out, and it sucked. I tried an Exped SynMat and some target foam, thinking it would be more portable, but it was just too wobbly. But then, I read about this pad, and had a chance to test out a version of it at a store. I was impressed! So I pulled the trigger on the wide version and lo and behold, it fits in my backpacking tent, a Big Agnes Copper Spur. (Yes, I'm gonna car camp in a backpacking tent...I didn't know I was going to develop this dumb condition and I'm not quite ready to cash in on a car camping tent yet...) Anyway, it's the dead of winter. I've spend some time on this thing with my tent pitched in my living room and I like that it's very stable, substantial, wide, and comfortable on a body that just isn't. It feels like maybe I could actually camp again, which is really exciting. I'm looking forward to taking it to my parents house for Christmas and using it instead of the air mattresses. It's too bulky to take on a plane without committing to checking a huge suitcase (or maybe it could be a sole carry on)? But it fits fine for a roadtrip in my sedan. I also might let my guests sleep on it...maybe. It's nicer than my full size futon couch. Hot tip...the pump is a little weak. I'll probably go for a big Schnozzle to fill it up fast. Although I had to let a lot of air out...you can get this thing rock hard if you like, but it's comfier a little deflated. It would be too painful to try to sleep outside without this in my condition. So if you're an outdoorsy has-been like me...trying to convince a skeptical spouse...or just have paid your thin-pad dues...this is the ticket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, it's that good! Incredible, wonderful, all the good things said by others and better. A critical back issue has prevented me from camping until now. YAY!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Megamat 10 this is my first sleeping pad ever and though i haven't slept on other pads, this one is extremely comfortable! set the bar pretty high! easy to set up, and the initial instructions are very simple and clear. Once it has been rolled up, it is still pretty large to be stuffed away in a backpack. You may have to tie it to the back, but for that kind of comfort and durability I wouldn't mind bringing it along with me on a hike. hope this helps someone like me a few months ago looking for a good mat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best night's sleep Love this pad! It replaced a pad that had leaky valve issues. Worth every penny. I look forward to the extra R value when the cool weather arrives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a dreamy sleeping pad! Absolutely love mine. Took it on a 5-day camping trip to grand staircase escalante and slept so comfortably. Didn’t need to refill the air for firmness. Didn’t change one bit. Also love the self inflate feature of this pad. I have it laid out on the backseat while driving to my destination and it barely need few more puffs for firmness before it’s all ready to go. Love the length, width, and the quietness of the material. It comes with a carrying case and fits into my large luggage for the travel. Such a great product!

Are these the 2017 model that have the top loading stuff sack, or the previous model with the end loading stuff sack? In particular I'm interested in the MW that you have in stock..

Asked by: Bill
Hiya Bill, thanks for your question! The version we carry is the 2017 version. The stuff sack has a wide mouth side opening. The older end style stuff sack was discontinued after 2016. Hope this helps!

Hi, do you make anything with dimensions that fit in suv's?

Asked by: KimH
Hey there! I'm not sure if you are asking if Exped or if we (Moosejaw) make anything that fits in an SUV? Thing is, I have a sleeping pad that fits in my SUV, but I drive a beast. Not all SUV's are the same dimensions. My best advice is read the dimensions of the pad you are interested in and then measure your SUV with seats down. I can fit a queen sized air mattress when all seats are down! I'm pretty certain you can fit some things in yours once you flatten it all out

Hey. I have a dog who sometimes will find hi sway onto my pad. How does this model hold up to abuse?

Asked by: Lyle
Hey, Lyle! GREAT question! So many people camp with pets, and the last thing you want is to sleep on the ground after your pup claws through your cushy sleeping pad. I talked to a dog owner over at Exped, who has definitely had first-hand experience with this mat AND his dog. He said that it definitely can happen that rambunctious dogs or cats can do a little damage to this kind of mat with their claws. His recommendation, which has worked on many camping trips, is to put a sheet or blanket or something thick on top of it to protect the mat. That way, it's literally covered and can handle your dog, who, let's face it, just wants to be comfy, too. I hope this helps! Happy camping!

I was watching the Exped YouTube video and it looks like there is an option to link two pads together. Is this built into the stock 78x30 pad or do I need to order something to do that? If so, do you have that attachment at Moosejaw?

Asked by: Tgreen
Hiya, thanks for your question! You would need a coupler kit. Luckily, Exped makes a universal fitting coupler. You can find it here: https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Exped-Universal-Coupler-Kit_10271667_10208_10000001_-1_ Hope this helps!
