Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Great device. This belay device took a few minutes to get used to but it comes with the extra piece of mind on auto locking in the event of a fall. This device is also relatively easy to teach others to use.

Pretty great, some compromisesWorks pretty great for single pitch lead belaying. Can be tricky to get slack fed through after locking up from a fall. Getting the carabiner through a bite and through the cable when belaying from above can be decently tricky, but once it’s in place it works well. Rappelling in auto blocking mode can be a little finicky but it works. Over all a decent and versatile device. If I couldn’t have a gri gri and an atc guide I’d get one of these as your only device.

ExcellentFirst time using an Edelrid belay device, and has worked perfectly fine. Looking forward to using it on guide mode and checking out how it works rappelling down without a third hand.

My wife really likes itMy wife and I tried the jul2 at the local climbing gym. She really like it. After a bit of use she felt more confident in being able to prevent me from decking should something go wrong and less concerned about possibly having her break hand accidentally pinched in the device. It felt a bit weird to use at first but we quickly got used to it. I found it a little tiring for lowering compared to other tube style belay devices (ie. Black diamond guide or petzl reverso) I've used. We only used for top roping so I can speak for how it works for lead climbing. Although I didn't use it for lead climbing I think I'd prefer it to a grigri. She liked the jul2 enough I decided to ordered one of these for her for Christmas. This functions the same jul2 but is a little more versatile. I feel a little safer with this than a normal tube belay device, maybe not quite the same as a grigri but it's far cheaper and way lighter and should last a long time.

Does it allTake everything an ATC guide can do, plus add the features of a GriGri and you get the Mega Jul. This thing does it all. It's my favorite belay device. It does take a minute to get used to its rope-feeding, and it probably feeds ever so slightly less well than the GriGri, but its versatility more than makes up for it in my mind. I love this thing.

I freaking love this!I have also been against gri-gris. Yeah, I get the auto brake, but they are pricey, bulky as can be, and you can’t repel with them. So basically you’re spending $100 for a single pitch sport piece. Needless to say, I’ve always been an ATC user and gotten into so many arguments with friends over it. I mean, do you really want someone belaying you who can’t use an ATC? This baby is suuuuper lightweight, auto locks, makes lowering easier, and while I haven’t tested it yet, you can repel with it. It can take a little bit of time to get used to and figure out how to make it work best for you though. In the gym while testing these out if my partner makes two clips at the same time it will sometimes lock up because he’s pulling rope that I’m not giving, thus pulling up on the device and cinching the rope. Yes, I know, communication. I’ve learned to just leave extra slack than I would with a regular ATC which I always kept pretty tight due to our weight disparity. The lowering on this is also a bit tricky. I weigh about 110 and my partner about 175. Lowering him while tilting the mega jul can honestly give me a little pump. I’ve been playing with different ways to lower him though to help with this. He, of course, has no difficulty. Anyway, suuuuuper solid product. I recommend them to everyone. Except my friends who live and die by gri-gris and would never be open to the idea of anything else. Their loss.

Great for belayingI really like how easy it is to belay with this device, but rappelling was a bit jerky. I'm still figuring that part out. Some reviewers said you can flip the device around and use it like a regular ATC, which I'll probably try. Overall, good product with a nice price point.

NiceDidnt like it at first but it grew on me. Was a bit fumbly on rappell. Took a few tries to get it right on fatter ropes. Gave my hand more of a workout than i wanted after a long day. Technique fixed it.
