I own several pairs of tall boots and have never had this issue. My calves are 15 inches and I was not able to zip these up past my ankles. the footbed seemed to be standard sizing so the fit there was fine.

I'm on my feet all day long and can't express how comfortable these boots are. I definitely recommend them. I have purchased 3 of them Raven, brown, and the new one this year black.

Extremely Narrow. I had to return which is terrible because they are the perfect looking boot, and the perfect height. (These days other boots are just way too tall)

Thanks for reaching out! This boot has a Regular/Medium fit. WIth that said, customers with "wide" feet are able to wear this boot comfortably in their normal size. The Trace Boot will stretch out a tad with wear. If you purchase and it doesn't work out, we do offer free returns on all footwear. I hope this helps!

HOW to MEASURE
1. Place your foot on a piece of paper. Putting your full weight onto your foot, trace around your foot.

2. Measure the length of your traced foot from the heel to the top of your longest toe with a tape measure.

3. Consult the chart to convert from centimeters to U.S., European, or U.K. shoe sizes.

NOTES
-For best results, measure your largest foot in a sock the thickness you intend to wear with the shoes you are ordering. Keep in mind that feet can swell during the day, so it is best to measure them at the end of the day. Always remember, this measurement is an approximation of fit. The shape of your foot also helps determine the correct size and fit.

-If your foot measures a half size and the shoe you want only comes in whole sizes, round up to the nearest shoe size. If your foot measures between sizes, round up to the nearest size.
