Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.
Are you Sure?
Our Rewards Program is completely FREE and easy to use.
By opting out, you forfeit all the Moosejaw Rewards Dollars your currently have in your account, which is basically throwing away free money. What would your grandmother say about that? If you're 100% sure, please click "OptOut" below.
Earn 10% back on all full-priced purchases on Moosejaw.com or at our shops (2.5% for discounted items).
The program is FREE. Just register and join during the checkout process. So Easy.

Tip Top, Down UnderMy last Deuter backpack lasted 25 years. My new one looks even better with great new features and spaces to store particular things. I scoured websites all over the world for the best deal. Moosejaw were the best and then delivered to Australia in under a week. Great service and great product.

Great all-purpose bagI've needed a universal bag for traveling. I do photography love hiking and occasionally travel with my 15" laptop. So, I had very tough creteria for the bag:
1) Waist belt - to remove pressure from shoulders - the bag can weight quiet a lot because of the camera gear
2) Separate pocket for the laptop
3) Different sections to organise clothes, camera gear, toiletries
4) External straps - to attach a tripod
5) Look not very big and not very outorsy, so I can take it to the office occasionally
The most difficult was to have 1, 2 and 5 mix in a single bag. and this one does it! Awesome - literally, I spent 2 years finding the replacement to my Deuter Gigant, that I had for 12 years already. Bonus point for being very good at my back during bicycle riding!
Amazing!

Great pack for minimalist travelI like to travel very light--carry-on only. When fully expanded this pack is the perfect size, yet is legally carry-on. It looks to be well made and has lots of additional features from the pack it replaces. While it is not ultra light weight, the material looks durable enough for some adventure travel.

Broken feature: Smartphone pocketThere is no quick access to the smartphone pocket anymore. In the current version (August 2018) it has moved deeper inside the backpack but the zip are as close to your back as before. Having a notebook loaded in the hydration system slot will block access to the smartphone pocket.

A great bike touring packA roomy and comfortable pack for extended trips. Used it mostly for the rain gear, camera gear and electronics on a 5 day wine tasting trip through Bordeaux, so I could carry the valuables with me while touring and tasting while the dirty laundry was in panniers on the bike. The pack was very comfortable and stable while both walking an riding. Fully loaded it also fits under an airline seat.

I put this pack to the testI bought this pack about 3 years ago. In three years, this pack has seen significantly more use than most people could put a pack through in 6 years. I am a Union Electrician so most days I carry home LITERALLY 30 lbs of scrap CAT6 cable in my TransAlpine. As well as my keys, phone charger, batteries, sharp tools. I have majorly over-packed this bag to the point that Ive had to fight and stretch to get the zipper shut. Now, I will say, I broke 2 zippers in the last 3 weeks (which is why I am looking for a new pack) but my God, I cant believe it didnt happen sooner. I pushed this thing to infinity and beyond. The fact that it has held up this long against my abuse is miraculous. I do not drive, I bike everywhere. I bike to do my grocery shopping and routinely carry 20-40 lbs of groceries home in this bag (that is NOT an exaggeration)
The one pro and single con in particular I would like to point are these.
The straps you use to adjust the height of the pack seem to have worn over time, though I never adjust them. The factory edge on the plastic has a 'sharp' ridge on it. My best guess is that over time the rubbing of the strap against the plastic sawd through the strap. Not all the way through though. So, it is still functional. Not a good enough reason not to buy this pack.
The pro, the best pro of allll time.
The denier fabric of the bag is incredibly tough. Up until one freak mindless accident (all my fault) it had never sustained any rips. What happened was I put the bag in my washing machine. I decided to put the bag open over the center fin of the washing machine (the part that spins). When it finally went through the spin cycle, the speed of the rotation along with how I hung the bag, tore a millimeter wide by 2 inch long gash at the bottom of the pack. The reason this is a pro is that the hole is over a year old and HAS NEVER gotten any larger. Which in my opinion, is unbelievable. The gash was my honest mistake. I thought that incident was going to be the end for my Trans Alpine but it held up. So when Deuter says high denier or rip-stop, they mean it.
So anyways. Just wanted to give an honest review for a good product. Im looking at Osprey packs (which Ive never owned) but Ill most likely purchase another Trans Alpine tonight.
I hope my long winded review was helpful to someone.

Size Guide
Deuter Men's Packs
Deuter technical and backpacking packs are offered in One Size for each volume, and feature an adjustable torso range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of a pack, and follow the steps below to determine your torso size.
Deuter hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.
HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE 1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.
2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.
3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
