Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great kids pack Worked great for my seven year old. Big enough to carry his bag, pad, clothes and water, small enough for him to still bound down the trail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BIG DISAPPOINTMENT Pros: High quality materials and manufacturing. Cons: 1.That stated torso range of 10"-17" is way wrong.I know from experience, as I bought one from an authorized dealer online for my 7 year old grandson whose torso measures 11.5" from the iliac crest to C7 vertebrae. At the longest setting it fits my torso measuring 16.5". It has seven web straps spaced at 7/8", but the shoulder harness needs to thread through four of them to be secure. This means that there is only four positions possible for a maximum of 2.75" of adjustment possible. The shortest torso setting at the very bottom is no where near a 10" torso setting as stated by the Deuter expert. It's more like 13"+/-1/4". I'm seasoned at hiking and gear since my teens; not a know-nothing newbie. I'm quite disappointed having beLIEved the torso specification, as it is critical. It's going back with complaint for the misrepresentation, PERIOD. Payed a premium price for a mediocre pack. 2. Poor hip belt padding.

Deuter Men's Packs

Deuter technical and backpacking packs are offered in One Size for each volume, and feature an adjustable torso range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of a pack, and follow the steps below to determine your torso size.

Deuter hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE
1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
