Deuter Aircomfort Back System

Deuter Aircomfort Back System
The heart of the Aircomfort system is a flexible spring steel frame. It is extremely durable and provides stable tension for the airy back mesh and creates the ventilation space between pack and wearer's back, which lets moist air escape. The end result is up to 25% less perspiration while you hike, which in turn reduces circulatory stress and helps increase endurance, all tested and proven by the renowned Research Institute Hohenstein.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable! I did a comparison with the Osprey Tempest 20 pack and landed on this Deuter! The Deuter pack is super comfortable and sits away from the hips and back for optimal airflow while hiking. The pack could benefit from an additional pocket, as the main compartment only has a hydration system pocket; despite this, you can fit your water, snacks, and a change of clothes easily. The hip belt system is a little clunky, but easier once worn a few times. The balance/distribution is fine while hiking, but can feel unstable while cycling or jogging. If youre primarily going to be hiking, the comfort of this pack makes it ideal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great commuter pack Really like the size for commuting. I'm small (5' 3", size 4/6p), and the pack fits me well. I'm not sure how it's fit larger (ie not-petite) women because the frame is small and the hip belt sits _just_ above my hip bones. This works for me, but I just don't know if it would for taller folks. The main pocket is big enough for me to fit a change of clothes (minus shoes), a water bottle, a travel mug, some papers in the back laptop/bladder pocket, and snacks with some room to spare. The top small pocket has been a gem. I love that I can stash my iPod, keys, and hair ties in there because they're easy to access and put away in a secure location. The look is terrific, too. It is a sleek, slender pack but can fit more than I anticipated without becoming bulky or cumbersome. I ride 6+ hilly miles to work every day, and it's been a great fit for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pack has great air ventilation and suits well Pack works out really well and fits fine...especially for someone 5'2". The biggest drawback...and one I find not that there is no separate and enclosed compartment for a bladder. There is just a pocket in the back of the pack into which a bladder fits, but the top half of the bladder is exposed to whatever else is in the main compartment. Bit of a drag as I like to freeze the water and you need to rig up something to protect from the condensation.

does any brand and/or size water bladder fit with this pack?

Asked by: nmalexan
Hey there nmalexan, good question! This pack is compatible with the Deuter Streamer 2.0 and Streamer 3.0 bladders; unfortunately, we don't carry these bladders! Sorry, but I hope this helps!

What does "SL" on some of the Deuter Day Packs mean?

Asked by: Inquiring Mind
Hey there, Thanks for the question. The SL packs that Deuter sells are packs that are constructed with their women's specific SL carrying system. The SL system is a bit shorter than the standard length for Deuter's packs.

Deuter Women's Packs

Deuter technical and backpacking packs are offered in One Size for each volume, and feature an adjustable torso range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of a pack, and follow the steps below to determine your torso size.

Deuter hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
