Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Danner Vertigo 917Been wearing these boots for a couple of week. Only complaints are a lack of loop for easily putting boots on and I wish that there was a wide option with a more round toe.

After about a month ofAfter about a month of use, the Vertigo 917 Java proves that it is an alright pair of boots. The durability of the leather seems to be standard. Easily picks up scuffs but hasn't torn or chipped. I like the look and style of the boot but the upsetting part about the boot is its unnoticeable cushion. I feel like I'm walking barefoot if not harder than a wood floor. I'll try to keep wearing them to see if it will break in more but I would not wear them everyday simply because of the comfort I do not have from them.

I've had quite a fewI've had quite a few Danners over the years, including a 25 year old pair of Acadias, that I still wear occasionally. I have some Mountain 600 that I like, but they are fairly bulky and my feet get hot in them when we aren't in winter temps. These Vertigo 917 are great. They have Gore-Tex, so there is some water protection, but other than that they are not lined and with the elastic around the ankle, these are very comfortable around town and for my everyday use, and they are not bulky or hot. They are probably fine for moderate day hikes as well. I would not choose them for a really rocky or long hike, or if I were carrying a heavy pack. For my intent of using them as everyday shoes here in the PNW suburbs, they are perfect.

Very comfortable lightweight boots. IVery comfortable lightweight boots. I wore them while walking for many miles in a Stockholm winter. Feet were warm and dry and the shoes held up well to water, ice, snow and mud. Good traction. Love them.

The only improvement could be for the top 2 lace hooks - other manufacturers hold the lace better. That’s the only ding, and doesn’t change my mind once tied. Crazy comfortable & good looking.

Not as robust of aNot as robust of a boot as the Danner 600. Also ran small compared to the Danner 600s. I returned them.
Are these cold-weather specific boots? In other words, if I wear these during summer months, are my feet going to be insanely sweaty? Thanks!

Hi matt, good question! These are just your standard, year-round Danner boot. They don't feature any insulation that would be hot-boxing your feet in the summer months, but they do feature that Gore-Tex lining to keep your feet nice and bone dry from the elements. You shouldn't run into any problems with these boots making your feet sweat excessively, unless you are already prone to hot feet. I hope this helps!

I just received these and was excited to try them on and take a walk. They are comfortable, but they are rubbing my ankle raw. Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

Hey there Dougie Dug!
Sorry to hear about your blisters! Aside from blisters potentially being caused by poor-fitting footwear, they can also be caused by brand new (read: not broken in) boots. Before you give up, I would spend a few weeks breaking them in. I would suggest wearing them for no more than an hour in the morning, when your feet are at their true size. Make sure you wear thicker socks to protect your feet. If they are still giving you blisters after a few weeks, drop us a line and we will see what we can do! Hope this helps!

I see the elastic on top, can they slip on like a chelsea?

There is some elastic on the ankle but its not enough to make the boot a slip on. You would still want to tie/untie these to take them on and off.

Danner builds boots for their intended use. You'll find that our styles fit differently depending on how they should perform in the field.
Hiking -Right out of the box your hiking boots should feel somewhat snug on the sides of your feet (you aren't sliding side-to-side) with a little room at the toes (you don't want your toes to touch the tip of the boot just standing on flat ground).
-Make sure when you walk your heel doesn't slide up the back of the boot substantially.
-Make sure that you aren't feeling any pinching or pain while walking around your house. If you feel pinching at your big or little toe you probably need a wider boot or perhaps a larger size.
Work -Your work boots should match the anatomical make-up of your foot, widening slightly in the toe-box for a secure platform to stand on.
-Right out of the box you should feel comfort, cushion and support underfoot, for long days on your feet.
-You may feel that they're slightly stiff or snug right out of the box, but after a few weeks of break-in they should move easier at the flex points and conform to your foot, fitting like a glove.
