Runs large(I wear XL in all coats/jackets except Carhartt, I wear a Large) Pros: made in USA, it's iconic look and durability- when it gets scratched and worn in, it looks even better. it is warm and comfortable. the elastic at the wrists is snug but not tight, no drafts here. to clean it- washing machine & dryer, like a pair of jeans easy. "helmets to hard hats" excellent! and a note with the first name of the person who made the jacket is a very nice touch. Cons: I'm nitpicking that's why I gave it a -(minus) the front pockets are NOT lined, your hands will be cold. there is no fabric behind the zipper= cold drafts. Please lower the inside pockets an inch or two because they can definitely grab a nipple now & then. the hood could be a little deeper, I'm always pulling it forward- or maybe I've got an extra large grape for a head. Please make more products in America. xoxo

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It got 4 stars because it's a great coat, but man, be prepared for a chaffed nipple. They got a inside zipper pocket on the right side, that zipper is perfectly placed on the nipple, so layer it up or tape it up. Just beware of the zipper pocket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Caution, if you work with wood. This jacket has the great fit and usual great quality they are known for. As an electrician I have worn Carhartt jackets and insulated coveralls for the last 40 years. They have been the best. It's hard to keep focused on your work and therefore keep out of harm's way if you're too uncomfortable, and I greatly appreciate their products. I recently retired and bought this non FR jacket for work at home. I have one major complaint I've never had in the past and that is with the lining. I recently wore it while drilling some holes in wood and the chips got on the lining which turns out to be such that they tenaciously stick to it. I have tried lint rollers, a stiff brush, a vacuum with a stiff brush, and nothing wants to remove them. I would not buy again for this kind of work. My other disappointment more recently is it seems Carhartt has quit making this type of jacket without a hood. It is way more practical for tradesmen to layer with a good hooded sweatshirt and the detachable snap on hood was ideal. This gave more flexibility when hard hats are required and you don't have a hood you can't remove filling up with water when it's pouring down rain. I hope enough tradesman might agree and give feedback so they would would again offer jackets with non-clingy linings as well as snap on removable hoods. Thanks.

Is this the j140 style jacket? Is this jacket 100% Cotton. Can anything be done to the zipper? It is extremely hard to operate at first. Is this the Duck Quilted Flannel-Lined Active jac, 100% ring-spun cotton and nylon lined sleeves

Hey there Sistersister, thanks for the questions! This is the J140 style, with the 100% ring-spun cotton duck material. The zipper can be a little stiff at first, it will wear-in and become easier with time but a little oil or zipper grease could help it along. I hope this helps!

Are the sleeves insulated and lined with quilted nylon? Or, are they just lined with quilted nylon? Makes a difference you know.

Great question! The sleeves are lined with quilted nylon, not the quilted flannel. It is not the same insulation as the body of the jacket, but the nylon is quilted .This makes the jacket easier to get on and off. Interestingly, all of Carhartt's sleeves are lined with the quilted nylon. I hope this info helps!

A bit confused. Description says Men's but I see both men and women owners in reviews and some issues with sizing. Please confirm gender/sizing on this jacket

The Carhartt Quilted Flannel Lined Duck Active Jacket is technically a men's jacket, however, the reviews of the women wearing it seem to be doing so for outside labor, like working on vehicles or feeding farm animals. Carhartt's Size Guide is available by going to the product's page on our site and scrolling to the bottom when selecting a size. Sorry for the confusion!

I had a jacket years ago that I loved and wore out! But it didn’t have a hood.    Is it not available anymore?

Hey there, Thanks for the question. Without knowing the exact jacket that you had, I can't say for sure if Carhartt still produces it. At this time, there is not a version of this specific jacket available without a hood. Carhartt does still make several jackets without hoods, but they won't be exactly the same as this one in terms of insulation/design. Sorry I could not be of more help!
