For bicyclists around the world, the need to haul gear to and from places like the workplace, store, beach, trailhead, or even mountain lift can arise. It was for folks in these situations that the 100 lb. capacity Burley Flatbed was created. This two wheeled, eco-friendly cargo cart prioritizes integrity of construction, ease of use, road safety, and versatility. The lightweight aluminum frame pairs with a PVC coated nylon body to offer a stable, durable platform for your precious cargo. The strategic design of the body material enables you to use the sidewalls as tie-down points, and those sidewalls can be folded flat for storage or alternate hauling configurations. Side push buttons allow you to release the wheels for quick setup and storage, and the unbelievably simple flex connection system ensures the armbar won't ever tip or collide with your back tire. Thanks to reflectors all the way around, you can safely and reliably bring the stuff you need wherever you go.

FEATURES of the Burley Flatbed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made, light Well made, pulls very smoothly, easy to handle. Mesh cargo net is extremely easy to use to secure gear. Whole thing is a snap to break down to fit into a car trunk, and the fat wheel kit will be a nice addition in winter. Only complaint would be the floor of the trailer doesn't seem suitable for point pressure like box corners. I laid down a small blanket, and generally try to package items inside a duffel or other storage. It's just not really suited for rough cargo like firewood, although rigging up some thin plywood lining would address that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This a well designed trailer... I am using the cargo trailer, on my giant e-assist bike. It is a lightweight, foldable, very well designed little trailer, that rolls along quietly and effortlessly. It easily fits my big grocery shop, and even a trip to the lumber yard. The open front and back, is great for me. It is just an elegant evolved design that is worth the money. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and light, excellent product I really like this cart. It was very easy to put it together, it's super light yet very sturdy. I've been using it a lot over the past two months and it's a joy to use. Connecting and disconnecting to and from my bike is easy and I love that I can easily take the wheels of for storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this trailer! I live in a bike friendly community and got tired of jumping in my car for 1-2 mile drives to run errands, but could not carry what I needed from the store(s) with my beach cruiser baskets. The Burley Flatbed solved that problem. Now I go multiple days without ever getting in my car. I love being able to grocery shop for a family of four, refill my grill's propane tank, or do other things around town while getting fresh air and exercise. I have to give a shoutout to the other reviewer who recommended the PowerTye Adjustable Cargo Net with Plastic Hooks (15"x30"). This cargo net works perfectly with the Flatbed and keeps my groceries secure. I purchased this on Amazon for about $15. The Flatbed rolls very smoothly and quietly behind my bike and detaches/stores easily and compactly in my garage. Best purchase I have made in a long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very versatile, multiple uses, multiple bikes! It was Flatbed vs. Nomad. Read other reviews and decided on Flatbed for its versatility and ease of transport and storage. Will be using it for 3 different bikes; 2-wheeled road touring, bikepacking, and my newest ride, a recumbent trike. I am using a large North Face base camp, waterproof duffle bag for all my camping gear. Still leaves room for smaller, narrower items such as compact camp chair, bear keg for food, etc. The two wheel design pulls easily, especially with the recumbent trike. Made one upgrade; switched to Schwalbe Marathon tires for better durability. Can easily change out my cargo bag for a medium sized cooler for hauling micro brews and brats for the weekend picnic. Overall, AWESOME TRAILER!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun on the trails I got this a little while ago and have mounted it on my surly pugsley. I got the 3" wheel add-ons for the c and o canal trail later this year. It holds weight really well. We got a big backpack raincover since wet weather kicks up a lot of stuff on to the trailer on rougher sandy trails. The connection was great and I'm very happy with the wagon.

Can I use the burley to haul my 6 foot kayak? Will there be enough clearance without the nose of the kayak hitting my back bike tire?

Asked by: Vicki
Hey Vicki! 6' kayak could feasibly work depending on the hull width. I am not sure the width would fit inside the trailer. Obviously you would want to pull it forward enough to keep the weight distribution on the flatbed as much as possible, but do not want the nose hitting your wheel. You could put the kayak on a tilt and on a diagonal and you would totally have no issue.
