The Brooks Women's Caldera 6 Shoe is a trail running shoe for putting in lots of miles. Sustainably built plus lots of cushioning, lace up for putting in a lot of distance out on the trails. Plenty of grip from the outsole and maximum comfort from the midsole combine for a cloud-like run through the trees.

I have been wearing this model of shoe for a very long time and every pair has treated me pretty well—until now. I have sunk my foot lovingly into all previous pairs, knowing I would comfortable tackle on and off road running, transitioning on my longer runs from dirt to pavement with ease and cushion that was delightful. No more. I want to love these shoes, they look like you would be running on clouds—but the foam is different. It’s hard and unforgiving. I found myself putting on a worn pair of 5s, just to be sure I was feeling what I was feeling, and those 5s were still more cushiony than these clunky Calderas. I will be searching for a new shoe in another brand. For Brooks (and all shoe manufacturers)—we rely on consistency. It’s nice that you want to make improvements but our feet do not change as quickly as your models of a shoe do. Our feet are still our feet. Why don’t you consider making a classic model and making no significant changes and then a beta model that people who are experimenting with their feet can wear. I depend on these shoes to keep my feet healthy and feeling good when i am running and I run in a lot of miles—but probably won’t be running any further in new Brooks. Really sad.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LorettaM from Good supportive shoe This shoe is great recommended by my podiatrist because I need to keep off the tips of my toes and it keeps me a little bit back on my heels as I run. It's subtle but it works and I have much less foot pain. I will say these shoes always fail around the heel area and the heel area always rubs away first and early. If the designers could work on making that heel area more robust to wear and tear it would make the shoe last longer and feel better. I've been frustrated because of this issue and considered other brands but I do like the foot support Brooks provides . Otherwise I really like the shoe.

My go-to trail running shoes have been the Caldera 4's for quite some time, however I just wore out my last pair of them and thought it would be an easy switch to the 6's. This version seems significantly clunkier and the footprint seems wider in the heel. As others mentioned the toe box seems tighter. This design didn't work for me- the shape of it kept my big touching the inside of the shoe at all times while I had room at the little toe side. Really bummed to have to return these and find a new trail shoe. The Ghost line is my go-to tread/road shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by melissam from First hiking shoe These shoes are amazing! I used them to hike the highest peak in Texas in the Guadalupe National Park in El Paso Texas. They did exactly what they were suppose to do. The grip and comfort were perfect. The 8 mile round trip and not any pain in my feet. The only complaint is on the way down my feet would slip in the shoe and my toes would hit the front of the shoe. I’m not sure if that could have been prevented. Love the shoe and will continue to use Brooks!!!
