The Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork Trekking Poles are a set of trekking poles for making the hiking trip easier. Stability and relieving some of the pack weight from your knees are just what the poles are ready for. Starting with your hands, the ergonomic angle in the grip increases comfort while the cork wicks moisture from your palms quickly. A wrist strap on each ensures your poles stay close, in case you need to let go to catch a fall, scramble a little, or scratch your nose. The double FlickLocks make height adjustments quick and collapsing even faster so you can spend time soaking in nature instead of messing with your gear.

FEATURES of the Black Diamond Ergo Cork Trekking Pole-Pair

  • A versatile pole with an ergonomically-angled grip with natural cork.
  • Cork Grips: insulating, lightweight and moisture wicking.

If the product name has the word "pair" in it, that means it comes with TWO trekking poles. If the product name says "single" or has options to select a size, it means that particular style only comes with ONE trekking pole. Sorry to be so confusing. Please don't hate me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't plan to use rubber tip covers. These would easily get a 5 star review if not for the rubber tip covers constantly falling off. I'm on my 3rd set this year. I'll probably be buying new poles from a different manufacturer soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong and repairable I have owned a pair of ergo trail cork poles for quite a few years. Mostly used by my wife, they have served well. Recently I borrowed them because a pin had fallen out of the lock on my other (non BD) trekking poles. I am a heavy guy, at nearly 300#. During a stumble on a rocky section of trail, I put enough force on a pole to bend the lowest section. But it provided enough resistance to keep me from falling onto the rocks, and I was able to bend it straight enough to continue to use it for the rest of the trip. When I returned, I wanted to repair both sets of poles. No luck with repair parts for my other (REI) pole, but Black Diamond lists a pretty comprehensive set of repair parts for their poles, and I ordered a replacement lower section at a good price (>10x less than replacing the poles). They did not match in color, but fit just fine, and these old poles continue their useful life. My next set of poles will be Black Diamond!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from five STAR TREKking Poles! I bought these in late Winter as the first purchase of many, in preparation for a through hike on the John Muir Trail in 2021! Well today we took them out for their shake-down cruise here in Wisconsin- I LOVE THESE BABIES! The aluminum shafts are light, but super strong-not at all wimpy. They convey a sense of strength and confidence that makes me feel extremely powerful on the the trail! The angled cork grips are perfect, as they match wrist angle and do not get slippery from palm sweat as I cranked upwards on The Magnolia Bluffs Trail here in Southern Wisconsin. FULL DISCLOSURE:These Black Diamond Trail Ergos are the first trekking poles I have ever used - period. And I don't know how I ever went through a lifetime of hiking without them! I mean, like I am 62! In days of yore, we just used a stick, but I digress! Another feature I really like are the double FlickLocks that adjust the pole's length. They are easy and quick to make the needed length adjustments, very positive in their action and grip on the shafts themselves. I most heartily recommend to you, the purchase of these trekking poles!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and easy to adjust Great product and very easy to adjust. I've used other cheap trekking poles that are a pain to adjust and sometimes slip.. it's worth it to pay a little more for these. Very sturdy but still pretty light

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and sturdy adjustments After few dozen miles using these on a couple day hikes, already extremely happy with them. Used them in snow/ice with a crazy Michigan spring and a week earlier was trekking on dry ground. Great in both environments and better then the ten year old sticks I had before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poles Excellent well made sturdy product. Length adjustment and clamp tension are high test and made to hold. Like the idea of interchangable tips that stay where they belong. Have not put these to a true torture test yet but so far great product at a great price from Moosejaw!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light & Easily Adjustable Love the cork handle. Not convinced about the ergo. At times, I like to put my palm on the top of my poles and push. The angle makes it feel like it will bend. They do swing nice. I love how light they are. I don't like the extended part of the handle as well as I did on my old pair of Trail Poles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whenever the snow is deep enough...... I've had these poles for about 2 years, and when there's enough snow and the wind calms down I'll put on the snowshoes and go. The poles stayed locked and made the up/downhill trekking more tolerable (I'm 70) in the two times I've used them. Wish I'd gotten them sooner. But, I did manage to lose one snow basket.

How long is the trekking pole when it is collapsed to its shortest length? Determining the shortest collapsed length will allow me to determine whether the pole will fit into my Osprey 50 backpack as carry-on luggage. Thanks,

Asked by: CumbresTrekker
Hiya CumbresTrekker, thanks for the question! The collapsed length of the pole is 73.5 cm (29 in). It almost fit but not quite. ::sadface:: Here are couple poles that will: Black Diamond Trail Trekking Poles Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Poles Hope this helps!

Stupid question of the day. These are ergo which means the grips are tilted rearward to relieve wrist strain. Is there any difference between the L/R poles? That is, in addition to the rearward tilt, is there any L/R tilt to the grips?

Asked by: retired fogey
Hi there retired fogey, this is not a stupid question! The poles just tilt forward, not right or left. The only difference between he left and right poles in the straps. Hope this helps!

Any suggestions for finding a replacement to the last two-section extensions for one of my two, three-sectioned trail ergo cork poles? They're not available at BD right now.

Asked by: 023Julie
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to Moosejaw! Unfortunately, the best suggestion would be to contact Black Diamond directly, which you already did. Maybe you can find a used pair and swap the bad one out and keep the other for backup... If not, it looks like you might have to consider buying another pair. So sorry.
