DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm for the Weight This is a great layer for ski touring and alpine climbing, particulary for long day pushes. It is lightweight and warm. The fit felt spot on (Medium, I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs). Primaloft construction seems to be very effective in this product. It would also be a great crag jacket for bouldering or sport climbing in cooler months as it offers good wind protection as well. A good addition/substitute for older layers to lighten up the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Warm! How is this so warm when it is barely even puffy? I'd wear this jacket in the fall, spring, and on cold summer nights. It is surprisingly efficient at blocking wind, even on a hill on an island in a storm. If you need something lightweight, somewhat stylish for windy, cold (around 40-45 degree) days and nights, I'd recommend keeping this in your pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight warmth and comfort I’ve now had this jacket for a month and I’ve been loving it so far. Access Hoody is a very lightweight option for cool mornings or activities in the colder temperatures. The jacket has a very nice close to body fit. The jacket has been designed for an active user and has very high mobility. Love the synthetic fill which allows me to keep warm and comfortable even when the jacket gets wet. Highly recommend this piece for those who are looking for a bit of added warmth when doing something active. It can also be worn as a layer underneath a hard shell due to its great fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Hoody I have been wearing this jacket on back country ski tours for a couple of months. No complaints, its a simple effective layering piece or outer jacket to add to your quiver. Packs down well, plenty warm and sheds light precipitation. I am 6' tall and 165 pounds, medium fits me perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have jacket for me I bought this originally with skiing in mind, but one day decided to wear it for a cold (think below zero F) winter run. Turns out it is the only insulating layer I've tried that has kept me warm AND breathed appropriately so as to not turn my torso into soup (which of course brings on problems). So now this is my running insulation layer in winter. Say it is zero degrees F, I wear a wool baselayer, this jacket, and then a lightweight running shell on top. Perfection. I'm afraid I probably won't be able to wear a different piece of insulation on my winter runs again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice comfy jacket for the colder activites I bought this for a spring skiing trip and I have to say I love the jacket, wear it all the time. It's a bit long in the torso for me (5'10", 175lbs) but at least the 2 way zipper alleviates the issue. Otherwise it fits great, is not too tight, and the sleeves are long enough and not too snug. I use it mainly for back country skiing and general kicking around, as it's nice and warm and layers well. I wouldn't recommend it for climbing as the length would interfere with a harness, but it seems to excel in all other areas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Light Insulation Piece 5'8" 155lbs, athletic build and a Medium fits perfectly. Dries quickly. Weighs almost nothing but is suprislingly warm and offers great wind resistance. I have used it mountaneering and climbing in frigid conditions in New Hampshire as a layering piece combined with fleece, baselayers, and a hardshell. Hood accommodates a climbing helmet. Trim fit works well under a shell. Always preferred synthetics vs. down as midlayers because of a synethetic's ability to work while wet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from At 65 degrees, in sweat pants, it's very warm. It is very light. The insulation is one piece sewn in place throughout the garment, or something like that. The garment is very light and packs in it's own hood smaller than a nerf spiral mini-football. It is very warm. Basically, too warm for long pants and 65 degree weather. I suppose if you went on a severe diet, you would always be warm enough. It's like an outer flannel or corduroy jacket almost, in terms of thickness. It's very thin. There's no waist cinches. It's ok though. It fits fine. The hood has no hood-cinches is the only bad point. The hood bounces and it's not out of my eyes, per se. The hood on the Stance Belay Parka could double for the visor on a motorcycle helmet. This one, you could make the similar joke, but it stays up above the eyebrows. I feel like they're joking that I bought the sale item or the cheap-end item and if I wanted full features, I should have bought the more expensive item.
