Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Cragging Pack... except... A great cragging pack; well thought out... almost perfect in every way except one glaring omission... the lack of of 'top tension' / top stabilisation straps / load lifters... ... BD, you put these on the Creek Pack 50 so why not the 35 - would make a good pack perfect...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Crag Pack I bought this pack for its intended use at the crag. I fill this thing up with 3 liters of water, a full rack of draws, a 70 meter rope, 2 pairs of shoes, harness, chalk bag, warm layers, and food. It is rugged on the outside so its perfect for throwing around and getting dirty. Im never worried about ripping this bag or placing it somewhere I'm gonna regret later. The full zip down makes it super easy to get things out quickly or just finding something buried in your bag. It easily sits upright due to the base of the pack making it easy to get things out. The hip and shoulder straps are comfortable when hauling a lot of gear. There really isn't anything bad about this pack in my opinion. Everything feels strong and durable and built to last. BD really nailed it on this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesomely durable. Fit more than expected. This bag is sturdy and able to fit more than I had expected. On a recent trip it held my 70m rope, two pairs of climbing shoes, two nalgenes, 12 draws, a helmet and a whole bunch of snacks. The front pocket for storing said snacks and other items (keys/tape/etc) was hugely useful. It is a bit of a bummer that the size S/M doesn’t have the full-length zipper to fully open up the bag, but it comes pretty close and still allows for easily dumping out your gear. The well-padded hip strap was much appreciated!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great pack with a fatal flaw Bulletproof, stand up like a haul bag, full suspension for compact heavy loads and long days at the crag. My 1 issue issue is no load lifter straps. Why give a pack such a great ridgity and hip belt and not give the ability to bring that heavy load closer to the hiker?? I’m probs going to get rid of this pack for a Patagonia Cragsmith. Buuuuut add the load lifters and this is a 5 Star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible pack. This pack is so well thought through. I opted for the 35 because it has a spot for the rope on top, but no compression straps. With a pack that compresses well, I typically go for the bigger pack. Since this one doesn't compress, I figured I can pack draws and sport stuff with the rope inside easily, and if I'm having a gear heavy trad cragging day, I can put the rope outside on top and still have room for the rack and extra gear. I'm also fairly certain the 35L capacity is a very, very, very conservative. This thing swallows gear. Pros: -Stands up -Crazy durable -Unzips to the bottom to dump gear -Zips up from the bottom to grab gear from bottom of pack -Full load-hauling aluminum frame -Great hip pads & shoulder straps -Rope cinch webbing on top -Bomber zippers -Can fit plenty in front pocket, even when main area is stuffed Cons: -The blue handle between the shoulder straps doesn't lie flat or stick straight up. It basically just points towards your neck at all times. This is very easily remedied by passing the rope-cinch webbing through it before you clip it in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Burly, Heavy This is a great cragging pack, particularly if you are tough on your gear or expect your sack to stand up to moderate hauling. That burliness comes with a weight penalty, but as long as you're willing to carry a few extra pounds, you won't go wrong. Only design issue is with the zippered external pocket, the top of which can snag while hauling. Having the rain flap/cover extend from that pocket, rather than from its own zippered pouch, would make a ton of sense.

Hi! it is a waterproof pack? will be the same as one of those roll top packs?? Regards.

Asked by: Martin
Hey Martin, Thanks for the question. While this pack is constructed with waterproof outer material, it will not keep everything dry if it is submerged beneath water. It will hold up fine in rain or wet conditions, though. It has a front zip for access and also is top-loading, but the top zips off and does not have a roll top.

Would this pack fit a 70m rope, 12 draws, helmet, jacket, shoes, and lunch on the inside? Or would the 50 be a better call?

Asked by: JackSteph
Thanks for the question! If you want to fit your helmet inside the pack, then you will want to go with the 50. If you want to save main compartment space and clip the helmet to the outside of your pack, then you will be able to get away with the 35. Hope this helps!
