The bivy does not have enough depth to accommodate an inflatable sleeping pad and human. I first tried it with my Big Agnes Rapide SL. The sleeping pad fit, but a human could not get inside. Granted the Rapide SL is a thick pad. I then tried my ultra light Neo pad. The Neo fit inside, but when a human climbs in the bag is constricting. When I laid on my back there wasn't enough room for my feet to even point up. The bag is so small that your down bag will be smashed rendering it ineffective. You wont be able to move if you put a pad inside the bivy. I have always put my bivy on a ground cover and put my pad and bag inside for some great mountaineering trips. I tried this bag on Mt Adams a couple weeks ago and ended up putting the pad on the ground cover followed by the bivy over top. That worked, but slid off pad. I think if you were extremely petite with very small feet this bivy might work for you. Im stuck with it.

It's ready for any weather, gives you enough space to read a book inside if that's what you're into and operates smoothly. Past frustrations with bivvies have been evaporated by this sleek and simple design.

There’s a little bit of condensation that collects at night, but other than that my sleeping bag and this black diamond bivy kept me fairly warm! Also the best part of this biv is that it takes so much less time to set up than a tent
