Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really well thought out lightweight tent I purchased the Tiger Wall UL2 to replace an MSR Hubba Hubba NX V7 that had all the seam taping fail after just a couple years of occasional use. This tent is definitely lighter and I find it to be more comforable as well. The vertical sidewalls are fantastic and I have no problem fitting my pack and shoes under the vestibule, still with enough space to get in and out of the tent. My wife and I are on the smaller side, 5'7"-155lbs and 5'1"-100lbs and we fit inside comfortably with room at our heads and feet for some extra gear/layers. The interior pockets are just enough to empty our pockets into, and hold our headlamps and battery banks. The only downsides I've encountered so far is that its easy to get the fabric caught in the zippers on the fly, but this seems to be the case with almost every lightweight tent I've ever owned. It also collects a lot of condensation under the fly, but it manages this well with none of it transferring to the inner tent. Some vents toward the foot end may be able to help with this condensation, but the fly doors do unzip from the top as well to function as vents. If you're concerned about getting a non-freestanding tent, don't be. This thing is a piece of cake to set up and move around before finally staking it out. I do recommend adding a few extra tent stakes to have enough for using some of the included guy points. Overall, this is just a really well-designed and though out ultralight tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Light but definitely fragile So this tent is stupid light, which is awesome but warrants careful use, its seriously fragile. Would never camp without the use of a ground mat. I built my own floor mat out of tyvek and have been really satisfied with that route. The mesh roof is awesome for star gazing and soaking in all the beauty when you don't need the added insulation of the rain fly or worrying about rain. Find it to be plenty spatious for myself and lady friend but it's tight quarters which is something that hasn't really bothered me. Tent setup is easy peasy and really love the ground stakes, they're bomber and lightweight and easy to hammer into the ground although can take a bit more effort than anticipated to remove. Find myself wishing they had string loops in the eyelets for easy removal. The dual zipper on each tent door took a half second to get used to but i really love the design. Plenty of room to store packs in vestibule, and love the ability to roll up both sides of the vestibule if unnecessary. Concerns: On my first trip, had a pine needle stuck in the rain fly - definitely something I didn't think I needed to worry about. 2nd trip I was carrying the tent on the outside of my pack and had set the pack down a few times carefully. I came home to see a 1.5 inch tear in the exterior tent bag. Definitely wish the exterior bag used heavier material. Would be extremely hesitant to even use this tent bag as a food storage bag and hoist it up a tree as I'd be afraid of ripping it if it brushed against a branch.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zipper Issues I bought this tent based on great reviews. I used it on a 4 day backpacking trip and loved that it was super light. However, the zipper caught every time I entered or excited the tent. One night it rained and it was really frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good tent This is a great, lightweight tent. The two side doors makes it actually usable for two people, though very cozy. Switching to this tent cut 5 pounds off my pack weight from my ten year old "lightweight" tent. Go lighter, go farther. Two things that would make the whole deal better: 1. Include enough stakes to guy out the whole setup; 2. Move the fly door holders up - they are so low that they won't hold the doors open. All in all, a great tent!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty fair one man tent!!!! I put 33 days in this tent with the last 12 days straight at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico. We got rain 11 out of the 12 days. After training with this tent I found the fly to sag when wet so I added line adjusters to the fly and tightened the fly when wet to keep it off of the tent. When the rain is very hard it will splatter through the fly as it does not see to be completely waterproof. Otherwise the tent is great and I hope to find a way to waterproof the fly, either from a 3rd party product or the factory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Lightweight Tent! We've taken this tent on a Glacier Traverse in Alaska with plenty of ice and rain and it kept us dry which was amazing for how light it is. My husband and I are 5' 8'' and 5' 10'' and don't have any issues sharing the tent and keeping our packs in the vestibules. I think most of the negative reviews are related to the fact that. a tent this light can't be super durable material and you have to take care of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent interior space and weight, but other flaws I used the Tiger Wall on my 2018 PCT thru hike. I primarily used it solo and it had great interior space and headroom. The spreader pole on top made for essentially vertical sidewalls and I could sit up comfortably. It was a little cramped when a friend joined me for a few days, but it is meant to be a minimalist tent. Very light weight. The biggest problem was that the zippers started to fail (on both doors!) somewhere in Oregon, and were completely shot by the time I got to Canada (it was not just a "clean and apply graphite" kind of problem). I returned it to REI. Other annoying (but mostly manageable) design flaws: 1) Rain fly door keeper is in an awkward location and is kind of finicky (and doesn't even keep the door well), making it difficult to operate while lying down. If I had to close the rain fly in the middle of the night I had to get up and crawl half out of the tent. 2) The foot end is sloped very steeply, so lying on my back on an air pad with my toes pointing up, my sleeping bag was touching the mesh (I'm about 6' 1.5", 187cm). With condensation on the fly it would sag onto the mesh at the foot and I'd have wet fly directly on my down bag. There are no tension adjustments at the foot end of the fly which made this difficult to avoid. One thing that helps is to get an extra set of stakes to stake the fly out further from the tent. 3) Does not hold up that well in the wind. The foot end has one guy line that is useless by itself. Attach a second guy line at the foot end and then stake them out laterally for better stability (but now you're up to 3 additional stakes total). 4) The rain fly is not cut very well, so it is never fully taut. This is bad in windy conditions because the floppy tent fly flapping around kicks up even more dust than the wind alone. Would buy again if Big Agnes fixed the zipper issue, but the problem seemed to be how the curved part of the door is designed rather than just flimsy zipper.

Is this a double wall tent?

Asked by: JadeMoon
Hey Jademoon! The Big Anges Tiger Wall is a double wall, dome style tent! Rule of thumb is pretty much if you have a tent that has a removable rain fly, it is a double wall. Even if the tent's walls are made primarily of mesh. Some manufacturers try to use "hybrid", etc, but if you see that a tent can have the rain fly tucked away (not permanently attached) when weather permits, it will be considered a double wall.
