Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

We want to make extra-sure you realize that you've added a special order item to your cart. These items take a little longer to get to you because we have to order from the manufacturer first. The "Est. Ship Date" is the date we expect items to leave our warehouse... so add your chosen shipping speed to see when it will show up at your door.

Super lightweight and easy to set up.This tent is incredibly lightweight! It protected us from light rain and let’s some wind in for ventilation. It’s so easy to set up especially when you’re already hiking with 2 trekking poles anyway!

Worth the WeightTook this on my 2020 Appalachian trail thru hiker which is on pause due to the pandemic. This tent works great in cold and damp weather, and blocks the wind surprisingly well for how light and ventilated it is. It served me very well in my 44 days spent on the trail so far, with only two main drawbacks: no mesh door and no vestibule. Having no mesh door cuts weight, but if it gets hot at night, or you want to ventilate the tent more, you are going to have to deal with bugs. Having no vestibule for me meant bring all of my things inside the tent at night, and not having a dry place to cook when tenting in the rain. Overall I am still a huge fan of this tent, and will continue to use it once I am able to get back on the AT, but I am probably going to invest in a bug net to use with this tent in the summer months.

I’m older and needed to lighten up my base weightSo I tried this tent out on a ridge with 20-25 mph winds and my thermometer on my pack said 19 degrees. I knew it was a 3 season tent so I pointed the end at the wind, covered the sides with leaves piled high and crawled in my 15 degree bag for a cozy and restful nights sleep. This tent performed better than I thought it would in all manner of ways that I tested it in. I’m completely satisfied with it and can’t wait to take it to the A T for a much needed week in the mountains . Only thing left to see is how durable it might be in the long run. I plan on using this tent to it wears out/ hopefully in the distant future !

Solid ultralight tentI got this tent at the beginning of the summer season and have now spent many nights in it, in a wide variety of conditions, and have a good sense of what it works well for. I do most of my backpacking in the humid PNW, and sleep two people in the tent, so I knew condensation would be the main issue. Figuring out how to guy it out properly takes some practice, but once you know how to do it, it's fairly straightforward. I have found that, for me anyway, the best conditions to use this tent involve some wind (given that I'm camping in more humid places with two people). Wind keeps condensation to a minimum and the nights that I've gotten some wind, I wake up to a bone-dry tent. It's sturdy if you guy it out well and I've had it in 30 mph wind without issue, though when I know it's going to be very windy, I add some extra guy points to trees with paracord that I usually have in my pack. It has done very well in heavy rain, too, and I've always stayed dry in the rain. That said, I have definitely had a couple of nights where condensation has been a real issue: one was camping low in a very protected and humid river valley and the other was on a ridgeline on an exceptionally calm and humid night. Overall, this tent has been very useful as an ultralight option, even in humidity and rain with two people, I just have to be thoughtful about campsite selection to try to maximize my potential for having a breeze. I think it is best suited to solo camping in arid conditions, but its utility can be expanded with some thoughtful planning. Definitely a solid purchase.

Amazing roomy, and light tent! This tent is amazing, because it is so light, and so roomy! It is a palace for one, where you can bring your gear inside, sit up, change or anything else. For two, it's feels bigger than my other 2 person tent, because of the way the walls go out around the shoulders. I've only used it in temps below 60, but have had no problems with condensation. It hasn't rained on me yet, but I don't foresee any problems. The only issue I have had is due to wind. When I was sleeping and a big wind gust would hit the tent, it would blow the door into my head. I probably should have set it up in the opposite direction, and I wouldn't have had that problem. The other wind issue, was that the front guy line, and the front corner one released because of wind, and the tent kind of collapsed. Not sure how strong the wind was, because I was on a day hike, but it was pretty windy. I'm 6ft tall.

Back Yard Practice updatepreface: I have never owned a non freestanding tent before. review: I was so excited to open my tent once it arrived. I pitched it in the backyard immediately and was a little disappointed in the headroom. so I took it down, timed myself and pitched it again. Second pitch came in at 4 min 48 sec. under five and I was very casual with my pace. Still meh about headroom. Timed the break down at less than 4 min 40 sec. So the tent is easy and fast to pitch for sure. Still, I was bothered by the appearance, lack of real definition to the pockets inside, and the headroom as mentioned (I am only 5'7"). So.... I read the instructions *gasp*. lo and behold; I was staking and pitching in the wrong order. Third pitch I followed the instructions and was amazed at the increased quality of livable space, tautness, and overall appearance of the tent. I cannot wait to get it out on the trail. Will update review then if it is anything less than stellar. Update: Wow what a great summer this has been so far! this tent has been with me for 60 miles in WV on the Allegheny Trail, 90 miles on the JMT, 33 miles in southern Indiana, and about 40 miles down in False Cape state park in Virginia. It has provided a palatial shelter for me everywhere and even my buddy when the temps dropped too low for his hammock in the sierras. Only once did i have condensation issues and it was with two people and I believe we blocked the side vents. I have set up this tent in some tight spots, it has kept me dry in the rain, super fast to pitch and and break down. Plenty long for a person of any height, If two people plan to use the tent try to cluster pads and bags/quilts in the middle and gear along the outside. the side vents are critical for ventilation. Great product BA!
