The Big Agnes Kids' Duster 15 Degree Sleeping Bag is an adjustable sleeping bag for kids to juniors. The polyester ripstop shell fabric is tough for plenty of seasons of growing with your kid. The soft interior lining is just right for cozying up to sleep. Using the loop and closure system, when the child is small, it brings the insulation in to eliminate cold spots, then expands as they grow. When it's time to pass it onto the next kid, adjust it all over again.

I like the feature that you can fold/tighten the sleeping bag to fit their littles bodies as they grow. I did know ahead of time the bottom is just fabric and a pad was required (but you need a pad for comfort anyway.) I purchased foam, rather than inflatable, pads for warmth, and they squeeze in the bottom pocket. Perfect.

We took it out for an initial 4 night camping trip with overnight lows in the 50's and 60's. The bag kept my daughter warm. Her legs still wandered off the pad a couple of nights, but most of her stayed on the pad. If I were to change anything I would consider adding a full sleeve option for this bag.

He he absolutely love cuddling in it now when his parents read to him. He is looking forward to camping in it this summer. The quality is outstanding and I would recommend this product to anyone!

Description states any 20" pad works with the integrated half-pad sleeve on the back, to keep kids from sliding off their sleeping pads at night. We have medium-width Exped mats, which are 20.2" wide and they are nowhere near close to fitting into the sleeve on the back. The extra 0.2" cannot make that much of a difference; we tried everything we could think of to squeeze the sleeping pad into that sleeve, but the sleeve on the back is simply way too small. First trip out with these bags was a huge 4 night frustration with 2 young kids unable to stay on their sleeping pads. Currently looking into modifying the sleeve on the back or returning for different bags. Description should be more clear about exactly what size pad (width & thickness) the pad sleeve would accomodate.

She's a little tall for her age so when the bag is rolled up the smallest it fits her perfectly length wise. It's really comfortable and she loves the pattern on the inside (toddler priorities!) I'd give it a five but she did still roll off her pad even with the pad sleeve. It's quite wide at the top and so she has room to roll off. It's way better than other sleeping bags that don't have the pad sleeve so I would still recommend it. It's an expensive bag, but she'll probably use it for a very long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by christopher from Awesome bag for growing toddlers We haven't had a chance to get too far from home with this yet but we had two nights of backyard camping for our 3 years olds birthday! This was her birthday gift and she was beyond excited to test it out. The material felt great and the adjustable length worked like a charm. She snuggled right up and passed out. With the sleeping pad inserted it felt pretty stable. But as others have mentioned, please note that the back of the sleeping bag is thin and is meant to be combined with a sleeping pad.

I like how it grows with him, he was 3 when we initially bought it and now isn't on the smallest size, but still has a ways to grow to outgrow it!

1) Is the back as well insulated as the top and sides? 2) Will this sleeping bag work with other brands of pads?

The bottom of this bag is not insulated below the body but it is insulated in the feet. It seems to rely on the insulation of the sleeping pad for beneath you. It makes sense because any insulation below your torso would most likely be compressed and offer very little insulation. This design saves weight but requires a back sleeper.
