Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great company We are a family of 5 so we bought the Flying Diamond. Its an amazing tent. We have had it for 3 years now and it hasn't let us down yet. When camping I use a ground tarp to prevent punctures on the base and I waterproof it ever season. So far we haven't gotten wet. This last year the zipper to the primary door went out. I contacted customer service and the promptly replaced it and sent it back better than before. Big Agnes is a great company!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Tent Living in North Texas we often experience unexpected bad weather. My son and I were out camping for the weekend at a local state park. We were expecting to get some weather that evening but nothing too major. There were others that were camping in the park that weekend, as well. Shortly before sunset everyone around us packed up and left. We decided to stay but fully staked out and secured the tent. It started to rain so we went to bed. In the middle of the night we were awakened by an awesome storm. At one point our Flying Diamond 8 was almost flat because of the winds. In the end it withstood what nature threw at us. We later learned that there was a trailer not too far from our camp that was destroyed as a result of straight line winds. While in hindsight we should probably have packed up and left we tested this tent to the limits and remained completely dry. I would recommend this tent to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would recommend The only consideration you need to make is the layout. If your a car camper you need to make sure camp sites can accommodate. The tent is long, which is fine, but the doors are on the ends...if you have a short site your door openings may not be in a practical place. The tent is very roomy for a family of 5 on individual air mattresses. A queen air mattress will squeeze into the widest section, but you will have to cross to get to back part of tent. This was an issue when campsites were short and the tent had to be pushed back into site (trees/bushes) as far as we could so the main entrance wasn't opening right onto road to site. In doing so, the rear entry became useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tent! We bought the enormous Flying Diamond 8 for our family of 5, family dog, and miscellaneous friends that join us. We have loved our tent. When we are feeling spoiled we can fit 3 Queen size inflatable mattresses across the entire floor and still have room for our bags and the dog bed. It is amazing. Our only concern has been with the zipper, which Big Agnes repaired for us. We did not practice proper tent-manship at first so we probably screwed up the zipper. ALWAYS make sure the tent doors are zipped shut prior to setting up the tent. If you do this then you're BA tent will be perfect. It survived the gnarliest windstorm I've ever been camping in without a single tent pole snapping. It flexed a crazy amount, but didn't break.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy Tent ... Like This tent had more than enough room for six people (two adults, and four kids ages 2 to 11). Our two year old slept in a pack and play and there was still plenty of room for everyone else sleeping on their Big Agnes Insulated Air Core mattresses. Love the storage vestibule for keeping shoes/boots and other essentials under cover just outside the main tent area. It rained the first night we camped and the rainfly worked great ... no water in the tent. Again, plenty of room to hang in the tent and play board games when the rain came. Talk about storage solutions ... this tent has stash pockets everywhere! Directions were a little lengthy (attached to inside of storage bag), but poles are color coded to the inserts on the tent making for quick set up. With more camping I'm sure we could set up more quickly each time. Tent and fly fit back into storage bag pretty easily, and on first try. There are two doors on this tent ... something alot of other companies aren't doing. Reflective guy lines on the tent are a great feature as well as the pull rings on the door zippers. My only complaint is that the ground stakes could be stronger (I bent a couple over with my hammer), but was able to bend them back to shape with pliers). Don't forget to order the accessory footprint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very nice tent. Totally worth the price I paid. I took this out on a two night camping trip with my family of 6 and I was very pleased with it. Its very spacious and very well made. There was absolutely no condensation anywhere so I was very pleased with that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Group Camping Tent We purchased 10 Flying Diamond 8's and 10 Flying Diamond 6 tents for our scouting group. They have been used by our Calimesa Pathfinders scouting group, youth lake and camping trips, Biology Trip from our local school, and a variety of church outings for the last 7 years in places like Mexico, Death Valley, Lake Mead and Havasu, Park Moabi, Morro Bay and all over Southern California. These tents are the most water proof, wind resistant, sturdy tents that we have ever owned. When staked out properly and completely, we have seen these tents withstand 70 mph winds on one of our trips with no issues. This is on a large tent to withstand that. Best functional large tent you can purchase outside of perhaps the North Face base camp tents. And even then, I wonder...
