The Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 mtnGLO Tent is an ultralight tent for backpacking in comfort and style. If you haven't yet heard, HV here stands for high volume, which is a hub design for the poles, creating more vertical walls and thus more interior space. High fives while you're playing cards waiting for the rain to pass! That's not all, with the inclusion of mtnGLO® LED lights directly into the tent seams above, you can play games into the night. Minus the whole "blinding your hiking buddy with your headlamp" part.

FEATURES of the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 mtnGLO Tent

  • Features patent-pending mtnGLO tent light technology using durable LED lights to illuminate the interior of your tent with enough light to sort gear, play cards and hang out with friends without blinding them with a headlamp
  • A simple push button controller with three settings – on, off and 50% brightness – controls the mtnGLO lights
  • LED light strand is integrated into tent seams and is durable and flexible enough to withstand repeated tent pitching and stuffing
  • Requires three AAA batteries (not included) to operate the mtnGLO light controller
  • Light routing that keeps the light above your head on the ceiling where you need it most
  • Drawing inspiration from our best-selling fly creek HV tents, the copper spur HV design allows for high volume pole achitecture resulting in steeper walls
  • 4 Way high volume hub design increases stability and strength while creating optimal livable space where you need it most
  • UL3 feature two doors and two vestibules with storm flaps on the vestibule zippers
  • Large dual zipper door with discrete seams allows for easy entry and smooth closure while creating a clean, modern design

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Our favorite bikepacking tent We love this tent. We recently took it on a 2 week family bikepacking trip. There is plenty of room for me , my husband and our daughter. The Mountain Glo technology is worth the few extra dollars to light our tent easily. This tent is easy to set up. Paired with the foot print, this tent and rain fly set up has kept us dry through down pours. It is light enough to take bikepacking too! We love our tent

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tent Money Can Buy Over 40 nights spent in this tent. Zero issues to date. Extremely easy to set up and take down with one person. Quality is highest possible rating. High level of durability. Always used with a medium grade tarp to protect the underside. Brand new condition. Desert, swamp, forest rain or shine. MtnGlow feature is game changer, never worry about nighttime lights again. If you are looking for 1 tent to purchase in your life this will be the one. Still hype on product after extended use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, dry, roomy and awesome Great tent, super lightweight for it's size and very roomy and easy to sit up in. Used it for a spring trip in Yosemite valley during near freezing temps and rain and it had minimal condensation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Yet Lacking I loved the idea of this tent. For the amount of money we spent, I expected better, however. I really like how light it is, and I love the built-in lighting features. That said, I find it insane that such an expensive tent would not already come with a footprint. I ended up buying a tarp from a hardware store for 11 bucks for the same purpose that their 40-80 dollar footprint would cost. That is not my only grievance, though. When my wife and I used the tent for the first time, we woke up the next day surrounded by condensation. This wouldn't have been a big deal except for the fact that she bumped it while trying to get out of the tent, and we ended up getting an undesired (and frigidly cold) shower. The drying procedure took 2 days in our garage with the tent set up for it to finish drying. It's really disappointing, since it didn't even rain that night. I'm surprised how long it took for it to dry out. Another problem was that, straight out of the box, the mtnGLO controller was broken. I plugged in a usb power supply to verify that the lights weren't the problem, but I'm still really annoyed that I had to go through a warranty process with Big Agnes straight out of the bag, so to speak. And yes, the batteries were in correctly and the power switch was in the "ON" position. Luckily, they replaced that part for free. I have yet to verify that the new piece controller works, but I guess we'll find out the next time we use it. All-in-all, if you're spending 550 dollars on a tent (or more), do it on one that has a bit more to offer. The only positive part of this experience has been that Moosejaw is awesome. I don't believe we can return the tent at this point, but I'll continue to buy from Moosejaw in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We stayed dry! Held up to some serious rain in Cape Scott, British Columbia Canada. The creek next to our camp rose nearly 3 feet overnight yet this little beauty managed to keep us dry. It's easy to setup and takedown, definitely a plus in wet conditions .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So light! I bought this for my wife and I. We wanted something that was light and that would comfortably fit us both, which is why we went with the 3 man. Material feels very thin because it is, but is a quality product! Definitely wouldn't want anything heavy for our backpack camping, so this light tent meets all our needs. So easy to set up, but would recommend getting the footprint!
