Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best tents on the market The Copper Spur HV UL 2 is a dream. Set up and take down is fast and easy, even in the rain, as you can assemble/disassemble the tent body while leaving the fly/footprint up, ensuring it (and you) stays dry. I most recently used this on a weeklong trip in the North Cascades, where it was off-and-of raining the whole week. The tent body never wetted out, and the footprint/fly dried quickly even in the humid conditions. There's plenty of space for packs, footwear, etc in the vestibules, keeping the internal sleeping space nice and roomy. Pockets were a good fit for all stuff sacks and other items we didn't want to leave outside the tent. Packability with the tent is huge - removing the stakes and poles, you can fit the fly, body, and footprint in a 6L dry bag which takes up hardly any space in a pack. All in all, I'm very pleased with the tent and have already recommended it to several other people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and Easy I haven't had a chance to get this on the trail yet, but first impressions from backyard setup are great. It doesn't weigh much different from my previous 1 man tent but has far more room. Went up really easily and, since I bought the green, doesn't glare out of the underbrush. Holding off on a 5th star until I get it into the field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing tent upgrade I bought this Copper Spur HV UL2 in the olive to replace my Seedhouse SL2 also in olive, The Seedhouse SL2 was an awesome tent and it always performed backpacking and bike touring over the last 10 years and thousands of bike touring miles, and many, many backpacking nights. I just wanted a side entry and a bit more vestibule room for bags at the same or less weight. After all these years with the Seedhouse, it never failed me. I had one snapped pole but that was operator error and Big Agnes hooked me up and repaired the pole good as new. The Copper Spur HV UL2 achieves this. The only real difference once it's rolled and packed up it that it is slightly longer (but slightly less girth). Weights are almost the same but seem slightly less for the Copper Spur HV UL2. I'm not a gram counter, just a heavy user. I love the green version and I expect to get 10 years out of this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, easy to erect and get in and out of. I bought this tent as i was after a lightweight 2 person tent for backpacking. It's easy to erect and the little features like zipper pulls and door holders are great! The floor seems a little flimsy and i am not sure how its waterproofness holds up long term so i will be carrying a tyvek groundsheet to put under it when camping on rocky ground. The tent is easy to get in and out of, even better than the Copper Spur 4 which i also own. I think this is because of the D shaped door versus U shape of the CS4. Even my 85yr old Grandma agrees so she will be using it with my 12yr old when we go camping in Kakadu in July.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super light, easy to set up, enough room I bought this tent to hike to Long Trail VT this summer. I am so happy with how light it is and how easy it is to set up and tear down. The tall ceiling is helpful for those who like to change inside their tent, and gives it a more roomy feel. While it's a pricey investment, it is well worth it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from it started so nice... We took our brand new tent on a backpacking and camping trip in South West USA. We loved the design of the tent, especially the two doors. The easy set up was another plus and so was the light weight. After 2 weeks of camping and backpacking we returned to our tent after a long hike and found one of the poles broken and the sharp edges had the fabric pierced. There were a couple of wind gusts that afternoon, but not too bad. The place of our tent looked undisturbed, which made it very unlikely that the damage was done by people. Our tent was in an open area, so we are pretty sure that the tent did not held up against the wind. Too bad, we loved the design of the tent so much, but we need a tent that can stand some wind. Fortunately this happened almost at the end of our vacation and not in the middle of nowhere. We could repair the tent with the provided tube, but only for the one night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a very solid tent I bought this tent several weeks ago and just got back from 4 nights on the rugged Appalachian Trail in NC. Positives - very light. very easy/quick to set up. good headroom when sitting up (I'm 6"4') Areas for Improvement - the tent did not come with enough stakes to stake out all the guy lines - frustrating. The loops to hold back the vestibule flap on the rain fly was awkwardly placed. The flap kept coming out on its own or getting severely loose after a few mins.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Survived Patagonia Trip! Bought this tent to get me through hiking in Patagonia. My biggest fear about the whole hike was that wind would cause my tent to collapse, so I did my research. I'm very happy with the Copper Spur! It set up quickly, and the fast fly setup allowed us to keep our tent dry even in rainy conditions. We purchased extra guylines and stakes, and the tent held up easily in 60mph winds. The only thing that I wish was different is that the zippers for the doors in totent to get easily caught in the thin fabric.

Is that 41" of maximum ceiling height? The floor space seems small for two big adults. My Q-Core is 25" wide. That leaves 2" between sleeping pads. That moves me up to a 3-person tent.

Asked by: MountainMan
HIya MountainMan, thanks for your question! The ceiling height is 40 inches at the highest point. The tent floor is shaped like a trapezoid. The floor measurements are 88 inches long, 52 inches on the widest side and 42 inches on the narrow side. So you wouldn't be able to fit two 25 inch pads at the narrow end. An ultralight two person tent like this is meant to *just* fit two people with marginal space between them. The dual vestibules are designed for storage. It sounds like a three person tent would be more ideal for you. Hope this helps!

What Denier is the nylon of the tent floor and rainfly ?

Asked by: Runhike Dan
Thanks for the question! The floor, rainfly, and solid fabric portion of the tent body use 20D nylon. The mesh on the tent body is a slightly thinner at 15D. Hope this helps!

Does the rainfly come with the tent? Because i see that there is an option to buy a rainfly seperate.

Asked by: pouger
Hey, Pouger! The Copper Spur does indeed come with a rain fly. You can buy replacement rain flies in case an overzealous kitten decided it would be fun to see how well they can attach themselves like Spiderman and dig their razor claws through the material. Sure, sure, I probably should not have set my tent up in the living room, but that kitten needs to learn some discipline! But, I digress - Copper Spur comes with a rain fly. You will just need to buy a footprint

Does the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 come with a footprint?

Asked by: gregnewbry
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, the footprint is sold separately. Looks like we are sold out of the footprint at this time, but it can be purchased directly from Big Agnes. I included a link below. Hope this helps! http://bigagnes.com/FOOTPRINT-Copper-Spur-HV-UL-2

Does the Copper Spur (non-HV) UL2 footprint fit this tent?

Asked by: kevininsd
Hiya kevininsd, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, they are not compatible. The buckles are different and the shape has been updated so the Copper Spur 2 footprint will not line up with the Copper Spur HV UL2 tent. Hope this helps!
