Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.

All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).

On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Platinum Round 2I bought this tent after needing to replace the tiger wall 3 platinum after a zipper caught tearing the fly during a backcountry trip in Banff. BA was great through the process. Reading some of the reviews for this one, I was a little concerned I'd have the same zipper issues, but I wanted to give the platinum series one more shot as we trekked through the Bob a few weeks ago. First, the copper spur 3 plat blows the tiger wall 3 plat away when it comes to space (headroom, sq ft). My dad and I were sprawled out in this thing like we were in a hotel room. Both over 6'2 / 200. For the size, it's hard to believe this is a sub 3lb free standing tent, but it's true. Packs down great as well. No condensation, great coverage by the fly and kept the internal tent temps fairly warm through the night as it hovered around 40F outside. Had a little wind, light rain but nothing aggressive. Most importantly, we didn't have a single zipper issue. Tent was taught - set it up with 4 guy out points. Lastly, don't be alarmed with you take this tent out of the sleeve for the first time and feel the material. I used another brands tarp but would recommend putting down something (BA footprint or other). Upon inspection I didn't have any punctures / tears after the trip. I really like this tent and hope it's my set up for many trips to come.

Easy to carry! Good inner tent, Fragile. On the plus side it's packs down quite small, easy to carry. The inner tent have hold up good! Very useful pockets everywhere. Could problably keep the inner tent for some use. Very lightweight indeed but extremely fragile. I ripped it on the first use, although that was probably on me. After the second time out backpacking I was extremely careful but I noticed another hole in the fly when I came home. BA have offered to mend it for a charge but it's not hard to do yourself with some patch. And the time for shipment and cost aren't worth it. Will probably go for MSR or hyper light mountain gear next time (the last extremely expensive but problably holds it tighter better.

So soI was looking forward to upgrading my classic version to this one. I loved the room and vertical walls of the classic. I sold it in order to upgrade. Definitely a mistake. Although the weight savings is great which was the reason to upgrade little did I know that it's not as roomy as the classic is it's a tapered design. It's basically the Tiger wall but freestanding. It can be a great 1 person tent. Very cramped for 2 people plus 2 wide pads don't fit. I now have to decide on whether to keep it for a solo tent and/or spend more money on a 3 person tent so 2 peoples gear will properly fit.

Amazing Tent, Light weight and lots of roomNot sure what the other reviews put their tent through, but ours worked amazing!!! My wife and I Bikepacked through New Zealand's Great Ride Trails and put this tent through a month long ringer. I wanted a tent that was 1. extremely compact 2. light weight 3. roomy for two. The Copper Spur Platinum 3 checked each box. So much so, I'm looking to buy the Copper Spur Platinum 2 for a larger solo tent. Yes, the fabric is light, but thats the point. And it's not so light that mother nature will shred it, quit the contrary to several stars we encountered. Not to mention the constant stuffing and compressing I put it through each day to make it fit in my bike bag. I guess if your prone to shredding gear, then it doesn't matter what you buy. But, if you care for your gear, this tent is worth the money and some.

Poorly EngineeredI've delayed writing this for awhile trying to give this tent every chance-I really wanted this to be THE tent. We owned an original "Classic." It was great; roomy, well engineered waterproof and lightweight. We thought the Platinum would be just like it only lighter making it a great thru hiking tent. Unfortunately, the full mesh walls don't protect you from rain splash up. I assumed that since the mesh extended all the way down to the bathtub floor that the fly would be longer to protect this area, but it isn't. Everytime it rains, even a little, the rain hits the ground and splashes up through the mesh into the tent on both ends. Our down quilts, sleeping pads, backpacks, clothes-everything gets wet! I've had to resort to pinning up our rain ponchos around the inside of the tent to try and protect everything when it rains. I expected more from BA- that they would have done a better job designing this tent. In looking at other tents it appears that everyone else has extended Silnylon on the ends to protect from this, including the Classic, but that BA was trying to cut weight so they could say it was under 3lbs and didn't install this. We have used this tent for over 2000 miles and tried staking it out multiple different ways, etc to prevent the splash up with no luck. So now we are stuck waiting out another rain storm in a hotel because we can't trust our expensive tent. I also might add that we are using this time to do some tent shopping online-we looked at buying another Classic except it appears that BA felt the pressure to cut the weight on the tried and true and so they cut the size down. So disappointed!

Too fragile-Floor ripped on first useI've owned the Copper Spur 2 classic for years and decided to upgrade to the Platinum 3 for an upcoming rim to rim hike with a friend. I really looked forward to having a three person tent that weighed the same as my current two person but the excitement was soon gone as I ended up with a tear in the floor during my very first used-at a car camp ground, which makes it even worse. Although I did not use the official footprint I did have a tarp underneath, so it was not a rouge stick that caused this tear-it was just from me moving around the tent, as one should be able to do without the tent failing. I understand that this tent is more fragile and needs more care taken when using it but i can't imagine there is anything I could do at a car campground that should cause this tent to fail. Bottom line is that if it can't handle a car campground there's no way I'd even consider taking it on the trail with me. I wish they would keep the ultralight tarp, poles, and full body mesh, while using a more sturdy material for the floor-yes it wouldn't be AS light but i still imagine it would be much lighter than its non platinum counterpart while retaining the same level of durability. As it stands, in my experience with the tent, they sacrificed way too much durability in the name of weight savings. I'll be returning this and going back to the regular copper spur line, unfortunately.
