Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is not a game. I am a professional photographer, and I work with the worlds top backcountry snowboarders. We seek the wildest terrain the mountains have to offer, which leaves ZERO energy for worrying about weather or not our gear is going to preform. The bottom line is that we demand gear that is built to last, functional, and light. The Battle Mountain tent is just that. It stands up to burly storms, has dual vestibules that let two adults gear up at the same time, and is plenty spacious. I also need to compliment the ventilation on this tent. Keeping our our gear and cameras dry is the difference between success and miserable failure, and I've never woken up with condensation inside the tent. 10/10

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love/Hate I love and hate this tent. It is amazing when nothing breaks and it is like 15 Deg. This tent is warm but ventilates very well. Pro -Well Ventilated: This tent breaths like a champ. I brought a boiling cup of water into the tent when it was under 20 Deg and had no condensation issues at all. -Sturdy: I took this tent on a 3 day backpacking trip that had multiple thunderstorms and had no issues. My gear stayed dry and there was no condensation on the inside of the tent due to humidity. The storm also had strong winds but with the 6 tie down points the tent was solid as a rock. - 2 Vestibules: I love that there is 2 vestibules. When winter camping it is nice to be able to put all your gear in a safe dry area without bringing it into the tent. Cons -BULKY: even in perfect conditions this tent does not pack down well. I have a 90 liter pack I use for my winter camps. With all my other gear I had to carry the tent on the outside of the bag. Putting the fly and body in a compression sack helps but the poles break down in such a way that the take up almost all of the provided pole bag. -Bad pole: Now I got this as a gift and I think it was a floor model. I had this tent out for the first time in a mild snowstorm and one of the poles broke near one of the connection points. Not ideal when half the tent is dipping down its snowing and its about 3 degrees. Field repair was easy with the provided repair pipe. Replacement was like pulling me teeth out. The poles are not clearly labeled in terms of size. They are well branded so I knew what pole I needed but not what size. Guessing at size I had to special order a pole from Europe. After getting the new pole section and putting it in place I have had no issues. -Bad stakes: This tent is advertised as a mountaineering tent. So you would expect the stakes to be extremely strong. Not the case. I hit one with a rock into hard earth and the provided stake bent. I am not sure if the are snow specific.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a seriously awesome winter tent I have used this tent on a couple winter campouts in the Colorado mountains, now, and the last one had some good wind to it. This tent absolutely stood its ground without even a hint of stress from the wind. It is awfully cozy inside, even just for one person, especially when you put a Big Agnes Park-series puffy sleeping bag and a couple pads in there for insulation, but the trade-off is that the tent stands up to the weather and does a great job of helping to keep you warm through a cold night. Setup is a snap, even when I haven't set the tent up a lot and it's been quite a while since the last setup. This is my first winter camping tent, and for cold-tent camping, I'd honestly have a hard time recommending anything of lesser quality, simply because this tent does its job superbly well and holds up to the weather.
