Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfy marathon vet! I'm a 53 year old woman and have run 6 road or gravel marathons in 4 years with TIMPs. Most of my training is on dirt and gravel. I wanted to try these for my seventh road race (Eugene Marathon...go Ducks!) so I used them for about 10% of the last portion of my training. Sure they felt a little more snug especially with my toe socks. And honestly on race day I wasn't sure if they were the right choice. But the day after my race, it took me a while before I realized my feet didn't hurt AT ALL! This is unlike every other race even with cushy TIMPs! It was quite a revelation especially considering they have less cushioning. I only have about 150 miles on them so can't speak about durability but I did test them on gravel and asphalt and so far so good. While I still like TIMPs for the majority of my dirt and gravel training, I think I'll keep incorporating these into longer distance runs. They're a win for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for I've used Altra trail shoes in the past and have many pairs and was looking for one that was more versatile because most of my runs are a combo of trail, gravel, and pavement all at the same time. And the Outroad was that perfect combo. The cushion is soft but not overly plush. The material doesn't tear easily and has some precipitation resistance. The toe box is a bit narrower but that's the nature of the slim fit, but I've taken this shoe on many runs and the width hasn't been a problem despite having wider feet. The grip of the shoe is perfect for going between gravel, trail, and pavement. I also love the colors this shoe comes in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No I purchased this shoe less than 1 month ago and now the left shoe makes a suction sound when I walk. I saw previous posts but thought it was a one time defect. The shoe also runs small and the tongue is too long. I special ordered this from a running store, so don't feel comfortable returning the shoes. I have a AA narrow foot, so was really excited about a narrow shoe. Been wearing Altras for about 10 years and this is the first shoe I really hate.
