Rated 3 out of 5 by from Length and width are perfect but upper is way too tight So hard to be consistent with Altras. My Torin 5s are somewhat sloppy in the forefoot. The Escalante 3 is the extreme opposite, too tight for comfort. With more room in the upper this shoe would be perfect. Going back.

I've had 1.5-3 Vs :( The shoe feels good but all I could think when I opened the box with the Escalante 3s was how boring of shoe it looks like now. My Grandpas new balances look the same almost. I just feel like this shoe is now not as sleek and its appeal doesn't resemble the previous models. I feel like more arch support has been added too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the 1.5 The shoe has gotten thicker and more rigid over the models. I bought all the 2.5s I could before having to put the 3s back on. I'm still somehow milking a pair of 1.5s. Return to what made this company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes. Need a black version Love the shoes, but wish they came in all black. Wearing these shoes make my feet feel incredible. No foot pain just comfort all day. My only issue is some of the ultra shoes. Look a little dorky so I wish they came in all black. Otherwise we're 100% recommend the fit.

Most recently the padded tongue has made the shoe too tight for my normal size. Also the "half toe cap" was a terrible idea. Please turn back the clock more toward the original Escalante design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally!!!! I find a shoe Love love love ❤️ this shoe I have tried bondi 8 new balance and glycerine brooks among others that weren't quite right. But this shoe is finally the perfect fit! If you wear new balance size up a size to get the same fit as this runs true to size new balance runs big. The squareish toe feature is ingenious!!!!! It makes so much sense our toes are not pointed like other shoe brands. make. Plus it is low to the ground so balance is righteous. Yay I am not losing my balance like with the bondi. The cushioning in the heel could be a tad more comfortable and more shock resistant but I certainly would not want to trade that for a taller thicker shoe this one hugs the ground and is adequate for the amount of walking I do. I am trying to build up to longer walks soon I will because I am finally comfortable in the toes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it but it Escalante 4 need option for Original Fit. I only wear Altra sneakers that have Original Fit. Lone Peak and Olympus have them. All others do not. I only hope that the Escalante 4 would give buyers the option for Original Fit or Standard Fit. My pinkie toe felt squeezed with Standard Fit Escalante 3.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shoes in a long time I used to run miles, I mean miles. After 2nd back surgery I haven't been able to. Unfortunately still can't. Used to wear Altra racing flats, and loved them. Recently started walking for slight cardio, and decided to pick up a pair of Altras. Love them. Can't run but sure can walk more upright and do resistance training more comfortable. Would love a pair built sturdier for the gym. That's a hint Altra.
