The Ahnu Women's Sugarpine Waterproof Boot is a waterproof mid hiking shoe for hitting the trails, day or night. Ahnu's very own waterproof/breathable technology keeps the wet out and the toes dry, so damp, muddy trails won't be a bother and a little rain won't hurt either. The mesh, leather, and suede upper holds up against abrasion and dirt, and a gusseted tongue keeps debris out. Down at the bottom you'll find a Vibram® outsole with grippy, self-cleaning lugs that will bite into the pathways to propel you forward with ease. Hidden at the insole is an integrated nylon shank and a shock dispersal plate for plenty of support and protection against bumpy, less than perfect trail conditions. With added support at the ankle, this mid will see you through many miles.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Boots First of all, these boots don't require breaking-in, which cannot be emphasized enough. They are comfortable, supportive in the heel and arch, provide good grip on wet and rocky terrain, and are breathable yet waterproof. They're much lighter weight than boots of comparable style. I can't say enough about my favorite boots! I've bought an extra pair for when this pair finally wear through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots I’ve definitely found a new favorite brand of hiking boots. These boots are the lightest and most comfortable boot I’ve ever owned!! Absolutely love everything about them!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost love I almost completely love this boot. I love the color. I love how much easier it to get on and off. I love that it really is waterproof. I love that the laces are not overly long. I love how much feet don't get too hot when it's hot outside. Things I don't love. I had to get new insoles for my high arches because the standard ones didn't cut it and i don't like that for whatever reason that no one can figure out, one little spot between my ankle and my arch on my left foot always hurts after a 8+ mile hike when I have these boots on. I want to though-hike so I'm thinking about getting new ones but these where expensive so I am not sure what to do. Maybe it's just a defect in my one shoes. Who knows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So light! The boots are very light, but very durable and very waterproof. They're great for narrow feet, but getting a half-size larger is recommended

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite shoe These boots have lasted amazingly against the rain! I constantly receive compliments on them and they are my new favorite shoe. They also multifunctional and worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit - No break in needed This is my 3rd pair of Ahnu hiking boots. I recently mover to Nevada from Michigan and hike a lot. The Sugarpine fabric is my preference, as it is light weight and breathable in this hot dry climate. The fit is perfect for me as I wear a medium width, with a narrower twist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoes!! I bought these special for my study abroad trip to New Zealand. I don't regret them one bit. They are super comfy and also stylish; one of the main reasons I bought them was because they don't look like your average hiking boot. I can wear them on a trail or even to town and they look and feel great. And moosejaw was so quick with shipping them to me. PS - go up a size if you are planning on wearing thicker socks. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 and got a 9.5 for my toes to be comfy when wearing thicker socks.

I bought this boot over a year ago, in a size 7 (typically wear), went to Moab hiked the arches and could barely walk out my feet where killing me. I want to purchase another but am uncertain of going to a size 7.5 or 8? Please advise!

Asked by: JMills
Hey there, Thanks for your question! I typically wear a size 10 shoe, and I take a size 10.5 in these Ahnus. If you are wearing a thick hiking sock, I would even size up a whole size to an 8. Hope this helps!

The burgundy looks very purple on my screen. Burgundy or purple?

Asked by: Angie
Hiya Angie, thanks for your question! I would describe it as more of a wine or plum color. The leather accents are closer to burgundy but the rest of the upper material is a darker color. Hope this helps!

I have trouble finding a good hiking boot/shoe for my narrow foot. I wear a size 7. Recommendations?

Asked by: kat003
Hiya kat003, thanks for your question! The Sugarpine Boot is a good option for narrow feet because they have been known to run on the narrow side but are true to length. Here are a couple suggestions of boots that are available in specifically narrow sizes: Lowa Women's Renegade GTX Mid Boot http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Lowa-Women-s-Renegade-GTX-Mid-Boot_10216429_10208_10000001_-1_ Vasque Women's Breeze 2.0 GTX Boot http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Vasque-Women-s-Breeze-2-0-GTX-Boot_10213228_10208_10000001_-1_ Hope this helps!

How do these boots hold up with colder weather hiking? Warm enough?

Asked by: Hmurphy1
Hiya Hmurphy1, thanks for your question! This boot is designed to keep your foot dry but not necessarily warm. I would check out the Ahnu Women's Sugar Peak Insulated Waterproof Boot instead. I need a hiking boot that measures5.5 inches from arch to top because of weak ankles & I need the boot to be well cushioned in the ankle area. The specifications only say "ankle" -- I don't know what that meanst. Will the boots support my ankles? Thanx

Asked by: frizzie
Hiya frizzie, thanks for your question! This boot measures 6 inches tall. It actually hits above the ankle and provides great support to the ankle and arch. Sorry for the confusion! I just happened to try on this boot today... for science! (Kidding... I just love trying things on.) It is stiff at the top but very comfortable and it fit true-to-size. Hope this helps!

Hi I read a review on another site that stated these would not recommend these for warm weather hiking.  Seeing that it says the boot is breathable and others using them in heat I'm not sure what to believe.  Are these ok for summer hikes?

Asked by: ADK hiker
Hey ADK hiker, Thanks for your question. These can definitely be worn in the summer. I'd pair them with a great light, wool hiking sock and you should be good to go. Gore-tex material can inhibit the breathability of a shoe, but these aren't Gore-tex and have a nice mesh upper so your feet shouldn't overheat. I've had my eye on these for awhile, personally, and think they will keep you looking stylish even on the trail. I hope this helps :)

I have an injured achilles and have had 2 procedures. Dr. says I need a 1/2” drop from heel to front of foot. What is drop on this boot?

Asked by: Cindy1027
Hey there Cindy1027, good question! I had someone in our warehouse actually measure the drop from heel to toe on these boots, and unfortunately there is only a 1cm drop between the two. Sorry, but I hope this helps!

Hi, do you deliver them to australia? My size here is 8 but 8.5 is OK or even 9 what are your sizes us or uk? What size should I order? thank you

Asked by: Barbara
Heyo! Thanks for asking such a rad question. We can definitely ship these to Australia for you. The US and AU follow the same sizing, so nothing is going to change there. These shoes fit true to size, so if you're going to be hiking or wearing big socks, I would suggest a half size up. Hope this helps!

If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the following steps:

1. Draw a straight line, longer than your foot, on a piece of paper.

2. Place the paper on a flat surface. Stand on the line with your heel and longest toe centered on the line. If measuring a child's foot, it may be easier to hold the paper up to their foot.

3. Place a mark on the line at the tip of the longest toe and at the back of the heel.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other foot.

5. Measure the distance between the marks. Taking the larger of the two measurements, use the conversion chart to find your correct shoe size.
