Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm! Bought this coat two weeks ago and love it. Very warm perfect for Chicago winters. The coat is flattering and stylish! Love that the coat had reflectors for when your out at night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmth, compliments and function combined! I regularly travel to Iceland (bimonthly), home of this parka. The winter weather there outside of the city will adequately test any piece of gear--while wearing this parka you'll forget what season it is. There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Pros: --gorgeous thick fox fur trim and deep hood --pockets and lots of them, inside and out --reflectors! Be seen at night! --length of coat and two way zipper --space to layer underneath --it may be nerdy but this is high Icelandic fashion Cons: --it's a parka so it is bulky --the waist cinching straps loosen often --the front Velcro closures stick to everything and have ruined a few sweaters/scarves/pants of mine --do you REALLY need one? They're expensive! This coat gets the most use in subzero (C) temperatures otherwise I default to something less bulky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, heavy, and wind resistant Although putting on this parka is like putting on a weighted blanket, it will keep you warm. The virgin wear was along the windy shores of winter Lake Superior. Despite the frigid temperatures and gusty winds, the parka kept me warm and the silver fox fur hood protected my face better than any faux fur. I like that the pull cords that give me a waist. Initially I was worried that the placement of the chest zippers and zipper pull would appear like pasties, but not so much of a issue when put on. The reflective details are nice as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this parka! I got this, like others, instead of Canada Goose and I’m. So glad I did. It’s incredibly warm and well-made, flattering and the fur is gorg.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really wierd coat!! Strange fitting coat; didn’t like anything about it. Broad through the shoulders, narrow through the hips, the fur was so fake looking and unattractive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and warmth I have just bought this after a lot of research between 66 north and Canada Goose, this rates warmer and has high waterproofing, better for our wet cold and windy UK. The fox fur trim is larger than I expected but is easily detachable. There are lots of pockets, it's a great length and as soon as you pop it on you feel the warmth and quality. 10/10 66 degrees North!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Money! Brought this last month and finally got a chance to try it out today. Overall, I found the quality to be excellent. It fits true to size. Nice fox fur on the hood and lots of pockets. I was debating for a while between the Canada Goose Trillium Parker and this, after comparing the quality and filling, I decided to go with 66 North. 66 North is a known brand in Iceland, everyone there wears 66 North in the winter. Well, since it's super duper cold there (i was there last winter), I am sold! I am very happy with my purchase at Moosejaw!

Hi, does this come with the fur line hood? I know this question was asked a year ago, I’m hoping it’s bit the same.

Asked by: Linh
Hiya Linh, thanks for your question! Yes, this parka includes a fox fur trim on the hood but it is removable. Hope this helps!

Hi, does this jacket zip up from the bottom? I ride my bike in the winter and need a zipper on the bottom to open the bottom while riding. Also, what is the TEI number for this jacket?

Asked by: ChicagoCold
Hiya ChicagoCold, thanks for your question! Yes, there is a two-way zipper so you'll be able to open the parka from the bottom. There is no TEI number for this parka (the Thermal Experience Index, or TEI, is a classification developed by Canada Goose and does not apply to other brands). It is hard to temperature rate a jacket because each person tolerates temperatures differently. That said, this extremely warm parka is specifically designed for extreme cold weather conditions. It should be warm enough for Chicago! Hope this helps!

How do you care for this jacket, machine wash or dry clean?

Asked by: Dibi
Hey Dibi, 66North recommends that you have their garments cleaned by professionals, but if you need to, you can wash this yourself. Their general instructions for down garments are below: 1. Remember to remove fur edgings before washing. 2. Wash the garment on its own in 30°C water with liquid down detergent. Do not use any softeners or bleaches. 3. Close all zippers and tabs. 4. Dry in a tumble dryer at a low heat with a tennis ball and turn the garment inside out after an hour. Please note that the coat may take 2–4 hours to dry.

Hi, I was wondering if this comes with the silver fox fur trim on the hood as it does on 66north's website? Thanks

Asked by: jes25
Thanks for the question! Our version is from Fall 2015 and does not have the fur-lined hood. Please don't hate me!

The Jokla parka that you currently have, from what year is it and does it all have the silver fox fur hood?  I saw an answer from a year ago that you have the faux hood coz it’s from 2015.  Is this still the case?

Asked by: Icelandicfanatic
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Did you know that Jöklais the Icelandic female form of Jökull, which in itself is a younger form of Jǫkull. The name Jokull means 'ice'. Wow. That....really built up to nothing, didn't it? An Icelandic name that means 'ice'? I mean, don't they all? But, I digress. So, I double checked our inventory on this, and it seems that, yes, these are all still from the 2015 season. Hope this helps you out! Hugies.

Is the fur faux or real? Seeing discrepancies between description and reviews. Thanks!

Asked by: Brenda
Hiya Brenda, thanks for your question! The hood trim is real silver fox fur. Sorry for the confusion!

If this is from fall 2015 why isn't it on sale?

Asked by: AC59
Hiya AC59, thanks for your question! Some styles carryover from previous seasons and are not updated every year. Hope this helps!

If I wear north face praka size us s, which size for this praka? And also Can I wear 66 north jokla men size xs?

Asked by: Nancy
Hiya Nancy, thanks for your question! This parka is pretty true-to-size so I would stick with your normal size. The men's XS is more equivalent to a women's Medium (and narrow in the hip), rather than a Small. Hope this helps!
