Rated 4 out of 5 by from Built like a tank, great casual jacket but not good in windy situations To start off I've owned this jacket for about 8 years. There are not many things in my life I've owned for this long, let alone had that long and kept in good shape. While I don't wear this jacket every day or anything it has definitely stood the test of time and is worth the money. It does well on chilly days, or when it's colder works great as a liner. It even has tabs to hook into my North Face outer shell.,,,,The fabric doesn't do very well at keeping out heavy wind or rain, but I wouldn't expect it to. I think my main beef with this jacket is that everybody seems to own one, and I prefer a bit more spunkier jacket nowadays

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a classic. My guy had been living in his Denali for a couple years, until it mysteriously disappeared one day. Apparently these are very popular for swiping. He doesn't care about brands (sometimes scribbles out logos with a Sharpie) or popularity, he insisted he had to have another Denali because the quality was great. Previous Denali was a large, went with a medium this time, which is a much better fit for his tall but thin frame. Even with his long arms, the medium fits well, and he says it feels warmer because it's not so roomy. It is supposed to zip into a North Face shell, but he hasn't bothered trying to zip it in, he just wears both together when necessary.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of warmth, but also lots of bulk The Denali has been a standard for years, and I have owned at least three. The jacket provides a lot of warmth from thick fleece fabric, but the thickness makes the jacket bulkier than others, and it can take up room in a backpack.,,The material is not very wind proof. Light breezes won't suck away much heat, but stronger winds will leave you a little cold. I mostly use my Denali as an urban fleece, since it is also a fashion standard on the West Coast. Overall, I love my Denali jacket, that's why I've owned three of them since the late 1990's (They outlasted my girlfriends in high school and college).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fleece out there Time after Time The North Face Men's Denali Jacket is summarized as 'Truly Classic' I myself have owned one for three years and still wear it all the time in the winter. I feel like this jacket has truly made a staple in everyones lives since my 42yr old dad has one that he got shortly after college (still good condition!!!). The fleece stays soft and it has made it through many washings (air dried) after long hours on the snowboard slopes. This jacket is super warm, but if you wear it in the snow be careful not to fall down too much because once its wet it takes awhile to dry. If your looking for a fleece then Denali is the way to go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A must have North Face Jacket This was my first ever North Face purchase. There is something that you always remember about your "first time" and this quality fleece fits the bill. The durability of the Denali is unlike any other fleece I have owned before. It is perfect for a cool fall day,,,a snowy winter blast, or a windy day in spring. I wear mine zipped to the top to provide excellent coverage of one's neck. There are ample pockets for storage, however, I am not a fan of the small "ties" that are tied onto the eyelets of the zipper pulls as they constantly come off. EIther way, you cannot go wrong with this fleece on its own or under a shell jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EVERYONE AND YOUR MOM MUST HAVE ONE! I am being literal with the title. Everyone in my family has a North Face Denali. You just can't live without it and you can't go wrong. We love our Denalis! And the best thing is, the deal here just really can't be beat! I wish I could splurge and buy plenty more colors all at once. Just got this one for my dad. But from prior experience, this jacket is so cuddly and warm. The fleece gets worn out after going through the wash a few times, but that's to be expected. Once I've loved the heck out of mine, I'm gonna get another one!,,,,In San Francisco, you can't go anywhere without seeing a million people wearing North Face, so it's really a way of life here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is one great fleece! I've been wearing this under my shell and it makes for a cozy and lightweight combo. The reinforcements around the shoulders and elbows makes me worry much less about snagging the fleece on something. It feels very comfortable the instant I put it on inside and keeps me comfortable when the temp drops below freezing. The pit zips are a nice touch and although I haven't used them much they open and close easily, unlike the pit zips on my shell (it's another brand so I can't comment on TNF shells). Overall I am extremely happy with this fleece, it's much better than I expected. I love the Polartec material and I'm currently saving up to get one for my girlfriend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE All Around Jacket This jacket is iconic. Worn by college student everywhere. I wore my Denali all year long in college and it was my go to jacket in all types of weather (except rain). It's super warm, durable, stylish and extremely comfortable. It went through many washes and still is just as warm as when I bought it, the nylon material I'm the shoulders/chest are perfect for holding up to frequent backpack/bag use. The pockets are roomy and I especially love the chest Napoleon pocket, perfect for storing a pack of gum, hidden cash or your cell phone. Sizing is regular. I'm 5'5", 170lbs and wear a medium with plenty of room, All in all, this has been one of my favorite coats I've ever owned, I highly recommended it!

Hello, If I want to zip this into a North Face hardshell should I buy the same size in the denali/hardshell or go a size up in the hardshell?

Asked by: YaBoyLoso
Hiya, thanks for the question... its a good one! The Denali will add a considerable amount of bulk to the shell when it's zipped in, so it would be a good idea to size up. Hope this helps!

my 20 yr old son is 5'4 and has gained weight and is now 189 lbs... should i get a medium or large... i don't want it to be too tight but also i don't want him to look bigger than he is

Asked by: gigi
Thanks for the question! Based on his measurements, your son actually is both a Medium and Large - according to The North Face Fit Finder. If he is more of an "athletic" build, then I would stick with the Medium. If you want him to have room to wear layers, then I would get the Large. Hope this helps a little!

Hi I'm 5' 5" and 165 lbs with a 38-40" chest and 32" long arms with an athletic build. Would you recommend this jacket in a Small or a Medium?

Asked by: Chris
Hiya Chris, thanks for your question! Based on your description, I would recommend size Small. The Denali has a relaxed fit so it will have a little wiggle room. My only concern would be the shoulders being too tight for you. Here are the recommended body measurements for size Small: Chest:38" Waist: 28-30" Sleeves: 32.5" For reference, here are the body measurements for size Medium: Chest 41" Waist: 32-34" Sleeves 33.5" Hope this helps!

I am 6'1 to 6'2 and weigh about 185 to 189. Should I get a medium or a large? I want the north face to fit comfortably, but I don't want it to be short on length and to not be baggy and have extra space than needed.

Asked by: WantingANorthFace
Hiya there, thanks for your question! Based on your description, I would recommend a size large. Hope this helps!

I purchased the Medium and it's slightly large but still wearable. I'm 5'8" and 160lbs with athletic build, is small going to be too small? Just not sure if I want to go through purchase and return after deciding on the size for me. Also does it shrink?

Asked by: Dom1
Hiya, thanks for your question! I would stick with size medium, the small size might be a little too tight. It has a relaxed fit, so it is supposed to have a bit of room to move around in. As long as you follow the washing instructions, it shouldn't shrink. Hope this helps!
