Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super durable rope, high quality! I bought this Sterling Rope, about 2 years ago, and it has gotten a lot of use and I mean ALOT. It has taken be up and down the mult-ptich of Fischer's Tower in Utah to single pitch routes of Horseshoe Canyon Arkansas. As I said in the past year this rope has gotten alot of use, sure the color is all nasty now but it has stayed tried and true.,,,,After a year of tough use the bomber seath (I'm not a beautiful speller) has some rough edges and it can be a little heavy on long draw out pitches but that is because it is a 10.4 rope and not a 9.8, A definite buy and a great rope for a beginner climber, this rope will take your beginner mistakes abuse much better than a skinny rope!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally worth it!!!!! Just got my rope the other day and took it out to the rock for a test drive. I love the way this rope handles, its smooth and also is not too stiff which helps allot with an ATC device you get the perfect amount of breakage with it. Its also an easy rope to get naughts out which is a big plus for your hands after a hard day of climbing where you cant even feel your hands.,,anyone looking for a good intermediate climbing rope should buy this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You cannot get a better rope than this, -Libecki I have used this rope on many major big wall first ascents around the world.,,As a matter of fact, I have used Sterling Ropes on all of my expeditions and first ascents, going on 20 years now! I would not use any other ropes. This is a straight up, cold hard testimonial to Sterling Ropes. LOVE THEM! You don't need to think about what ropes to buy, it is Sterling, you are all set. - Mike Libecki

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first rope, and it was a great choice!! I got into rock climbing this past fall, and bought this one on sale at the end of the climbing season. I got to use it a couple of times before the snow came, and it works great. The bi-color is especially helpful when repelling. I got the 60 meter, and its a good choice, can climb anything up to 30 meters tall. I really recommend this rope, one cannot go wrong!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth like butter. Sterling makes a great rope and this is no exception. Have been using it for for top-roping with a school climbing group and I have no doubt that it will withstand the abuses of teenage climbers. We have the standard (non-dry-treated) rope and it still runs smoothly through the anchors and belay device. Will definitely continue to purchase Sterling in the future!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Rope. This is my second rope and love it so far. I have only had two climbing trips on it and was initially worried that the increase in diameter, from 9.8mm, would have an effect on weight and rope drag. So far I haven't had any problems and didn't notice a difference at all besides a little weight. This rope is definitely worth a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rope For a cheaper rope it works like a charm. I have been using my current rope for about 2 summers now. Climb about 10 times a summer. Still looks brand new and also cut it in half to use as two separate ropes to last even longer.

Climbers want to know the impact force of a rope.  We want to be able to sort ropes by diameter and length.  Sterling ropes generally have a higher impact force which means I buy other brands.  Therefore show us the kilo newtons.

Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. We're always looking for constructive feedback about our site, and you did not fail to deliver. I'll pass that information on to the 'the boys upstairs'. As for this item, however, the impact force is 9.3 kilonewtons. Hope this helps you out.
