The Sea to Summit Alpha Light Long Spoon. The Alpha Light Cutlery uses a durable hard-anodized aircraft grade aluminum combined with a sleek yet-strong shape to create an extremely lightweight utensil at a surprisingly affordable price. By hard anodizing the aluminum it forms a kind of "exoskeleton," so the shape of the utensils can be slimmerand lighter. This hardened shell also encapsulates the aluminum, so there's no risk of the alloy leaching onto food.

Alpha Light Cutlery is available in two sets. The two-piece is the ultimate lightweight backpacker's set. Also available individually: fork, knife, spork, regular length spoon, the unique and ultra light SHORT spoon and the popular LONG spoon. The long-handled spoon design is perfect for eating out of individual camp food packets and using tall pots now popular with the Jetboil-shape stove/pot kits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice n long This is our third long spoon we have purchased, we are getting this one as a gift for a friend new to backpacking. We use them for the dehydrated meal packs. They are long enough that your fingers don't get sticky from eating out of a bag. They are light enough to take backpacking and long enough to be efficient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Greeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaattttttt! This would be the best spoon on the market if they made a few small changes. 1) put some tangs on this bad boy and make it into a spork! 2) offer a titanium option for all of us geeks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a Spoon. If you need a spoon, you might want this one... I eat a lot of MRE's... I needed a metal spoon that would stand up better than the plastic spoon the provide. I found this one at the store. Its pretty nice, light weight and seems to be quality metal. What really sold me was that it came with a carabiner which will allow it to secure to my gear and hopefully not get lost.,,,,It is a bit expensive for a spoon and if it did not have the carabiner I probably would not have bought it. What else can I say? It is a spoon and definitely a impulse buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a spoon, it's long. It's a long spoon... Quality material, would bend if you're reckless with it but it should be OK as long as it's not used to pry rocks out of the ground. I like the mini-biner clip that's included which helps to keep it secured somewhere out of the hands of those who would be prone to use it for unintended purposes. Length is handy, keeps re-hydrated food from getting on your knuckles when eating straight out of the bag. Buy it, you won't be disappointed...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice spoon 9 bucks for a spoon, damn! But, this thing is ultra light. Its long handle reaches deep and the extra bend at the and really allows you to hold on to the goodies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ultralight and durable on a budget The spoon is tailor made for eating out of Mountain House pouches. It's weight is comparable to polycarbonate utensils, maybe even lighter than some. It is sturdy enough to use to lift my pot out of the fire and I can also use it to stir a deep pot of rice and beans without worrying about melting it on the bottom of the pot. ,,,,Be warned, this spoon is aluminum which means it conducts heat very, very well, unlike titanium.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good length I like the length of this spoon. It's particularly helpful when mixing freeze dried meals. It is an indispensable item for your pack. It cleans easily too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected. If you ever boil anything in a bag, or use a gasifier stove with a short pot. Get this spoon! The fact that you don't have to stick your hand inside of a food bag to get the last bit, or burn the hair off your hand stirring in a small pot, well worth it. Not kidding, might only bring this and a knife for now on.
