The Scarpa Men's Zen Shoe is a light hiking shoe for trail hiking and technical scrambling. The Zen is a blend of an approach shoe and light hiker, comfortable and supportive for a groomed trail with enough traction to handle moving up rock. The leather upper with rubber toe rand provides durability against rocks and dirt. The EVA midsole provides cushioning for long days in the outdoors. The lacing drops to the toes for a secure fit with adjustability depending on what lies on the trail ahead. Finished with a Vibram Spyder outsole, it'll be sticky enough when you need it, with lugged treads for traction. For those that find their center while hiking out into the woods.

FEATURES of the Scarpa Men's Zen Shoe

  • All-leather construction
  • EVA cushioning for all-day-long adventures
  • Molded Vibram Spyder sole is designed for approach versatility
  • Reinforced arch
  • Rubber toe rand for added protection

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable! My lovely wife bought these for me for Christmas. It's the third pair of these that I've had. That's probably enough said. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoes, wish they lasted longer This is probably my seventh or eighth pair. I wear them every day for walking in the city, bike commuting, hiking, and pretty much everything else that I don't need boots for. They require no break in, fit great, look great (would prefer black laces, but I can do that myself). They offer a lot of lateral support, which is why I chose them in the first place. Too many similar shoes felt more like running shoes. My only complaint is that the heel wears out before anything else. I still get almost a year out of each pair, and they probably wouldn't be as comfortable if they were stiffer on the bottom, so I'll keep buying them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I will by from this company again Ok first off the color is somewhat darker then in the picture shown, if this matters to you. Secondly, if you have wide feet then you wont be happy. ,,And did you know these shoes are Made in Romania? Beats Made in China if you ask me!!,,Alright, the bottom line is, these baby`s fit right out of the box. I mean no brake-in necessary.,,Sizing is right on, the craftmanship looks great, materials appear to be top notch. I can`t comment on how this shoes will wear over time, but I bet that they will last longer then my Salomons. Another big plus is that the laces are the perfect length and feel very durable.,,My next purchase will be the "pro" version of this shoe just to find out what the differences are. So go ahead and treat yourself, or your feet that is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too nice to wear on the trail! My go to church hiking shoes, look great.,,,,I had to size up, small toe box compared to my Merrills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from stylish, comfortable, and durable in any order I have been wearing these regularly for just over a year. There was no real break-in. Right out of the box I took them to Europe where I was walking all day every day for three weeks. No problems with blisters or soreness. They are built for a more narrow foot. So, if you like roomy shoes these are not it. The soles have stood up longer than I expected, given how well they grip and how often I wear them on pavement. The only down side is the lack of gusseting on the tongue. After a long day of walking they tend to slip towards the outside of the shoe, not so much a problem for comfort, but a bit of an annoyance. Style wise they look as good in the city as they do in the mountains.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shoe I have had this show for a few months now and really love it. It was comfy right out of the box but it felt even better after a short break-in period. The Scarpa Zen is a well built and rugged approach shoe or everyday runabout hiker. ,,,,I have worn the for the last few months on and off for work, play and hiking weekends. Sticky sole that laughs at water. Really durable sole, even more so than my Guide Tennies. The Tennies are more comfy everyday shoe and the Scarpa a little more technical, rugged, durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money After using other hiking shoes, I have found the go to. After 9 hours of walking, my feet didn't hurt at all. My arch usually gives me problems. About 3/4's of the way up, I started noticing a subtle, yet definite, arch support on the shoe. I have put about 40 miles on this shoe and my feet have not bothered me. I have noticed some perspiration on the bottoms of my feet.. We had about 1/4" of snow on the ground over the holidays and the shoe didn't slip at all. I wear a size 10 1/2 in almost all shoe types. I ordered the 45 and the fit is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy shoe ready to go out of the box. I bought this shoe about 3 hours ago, and I as I live in Zion National Park, UT I've already had a chance to try them out. Great shoe: grips our red rock well, rigid for smaller footholds, and comfortable. Another (+); not made in China.

Does the Zen have a gusseted tongue? If so is it a full length or partial gusset?
