The Salomon Men's Speedcross 3 Shoe is a trail running shoe for stellar grip along the woods-y dirt path. Slip your feet into these puppies and the Sensifit™ wraps them closely for a snug fit that won't wiggle or move about as you're on the run. Underfoot an Ortholite™ sockliner adds a touch of cushion while the EVA shaped footbed uses molded, injected and compressed EVA for additional cushion and support. The Contagrip® outsole is rugged and aggressive for mud & snow, propelling you through challenging and changing terrain. An anti-debris mesh combines with a mud guard to maintain the life of the shoe as you tear through the woods. Cinch down the Quicklace™, tuck the excess into the lace pocket and forget about 'em until the run is over and it's time to rest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from buy 'em These shoes are awesome right out of the box--literally no breaking in period. By far one of the best fitting shoes I have had. The one downside to these is the tread wearing off way too quickly if you do too much road or sidewalk running/walking. I have 3 dogs in Chicago, and got these about 7 months ago, and between the walks for the dogs--I do about 40 miles of walking a week on average. I am down to flat rubber on the front of both shoes. I still wear them everyday as they are so damn comfortable, but it is an issue some might not appreciate. Will definitely be getting another pair soon however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't be disappointed. So I recently started running cross country in college... I tried to do as much summer running on these bad boys as possible, and I loved them to death. They handled abuse almost to well. Perfect for some fast trails with good friends. As the season started up I started having issues with my feet and shins from pounding pavement (different shoes) and have recently been doing workouts on my own out on the trails in these, I have had no issues or pain while on the trail. So while they are supposed to be for racing/speed, they are comfy enough to handle some heavy miles. to sum it up, I'd tell even my worst enemies to buy these, not because they deserve it, but the shoes too good not to rave about

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent trail shoe!! I purchased these shoes for tough mudder New England at the suggestion of fellow mudders. These shoes performed flawlessly in muddy, wet, rocky mountainous terrain. The traction was incredible, didn't slip once traversing black diamond expert trails full of mud. I got these shoes absolutely covered in mud. While many people at the race threw their shoes away (or donated) I just washed the off with a garden hose and they were perfect. If these passed a tough mudder you can best believe they can handle anything you can throw at them! The only negative I experienced was the insole slid forward when running down steep mountain sides but I'm talking some really extreme declines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stiuff! I have extremely flat feet and is a heavy pronator. My feet are not just flat but they are very narrow so I have trouble even just trying to balance myself in a moving bus! I am also a relatively heavy runner standing at 180cm but weights 74kg. I bought a pair of Speedcross primarily for very steep mountain running as I really need the grip and stability especially in the winter. These shoes are very realtively light, comfortable and can accomodate my feet as well as giving me the confidence of a good grib. Further, I keep getting comments from friend and strangers like "Nice looking runners you have!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Comfortable Trail Shoes Ever! I just got done with my first 20 miles on these shoes with some pretty rough trails. When I first put the shoes on, they felt like I had a pair of clouds attached to the bottom of my feet. At the end of my last 10 miles, I took them off and waited for about 15 min. I was curious so I put them back on. Still cloudy! ,,They are very light and I felt like I was really hauling on the trails. Grip was no issue at all. I am in training for a Tough Mudder in Oct so I will be using these a lot over the next 6 months. I have faith that they will hold up. More updates on these shoes as I go...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The cost is acceptable given the extreme durability, jet fighter looks, and Dahl sheep traction. I had purchased an earlier version of this same model and ran with them on muddy single track, loose and rocky cat tracks and an occasional road race. Even through repeated abuse they survived for two years without any part of the shoe separating or becoming damaged; I did wear all the tread off so that's why they were retired, with full honors I might add.,,Salomon has always been one of those companies that puts out amazing products, so much so that I don't think twice about spending $130-ish on a pair of shoes.,,I am getting the same performance from this pair as I did from the previous so quality has not eroded at all over time.,,These things are like a cat on carpet when used on muddy trails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding trail runner I bought these to replace my Salomon's XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 shoes which gave me two years of great wear and traction. While I was initially wary of the lacing system, I liked it so much I wanted to follow up with a similar pair. These have not disappointed at all. In the first 10 days I put about 30 miles on these in mixed terrain (dirt, mud, scree, rocks) and was impressed with the killer grip the new soles provided. Great braking and cornering, zero slippage. The shoes are nice and light, breath well, and fit true to size. Just a great shoe all around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and Sticky! I was deciding between this and the Wildcats and decided to go with this because my Salomon boots have held up like a champ in the past 5 years. I don't regret the decision because these shoes have great traction and, being lighter, will make go farther on my backpacking trips. I've tested it out several times already and they have held up well but still needs more breaking in time since it is narrow and I felt too much pressure on the sides of my feet. Hopefully once they mold to my feet, they'll be my go-to move of transportation in the wilderness!

How is the fit? I heard they run narrow

Asked by: Kaden1998
Hey Kaden, Thanks for asking about these trail running shoes. I've seen some reviews that mention the shoes fitting a bit narrow, but others have mentioned that they fit true to size. Everyone's foot is different, so it is probably worth trying these babies on. No worries if you can't find them to try on locally - we offer free return shipping for exchanges on footwear. That means you can try as many pairs as you'd like until you find the perfect fit for you. You can find out more about our return and exchange policy at

I know this is probably a ridiculous question, but can they be used on a treadmill? or will it damage the belt?

Asked by: sillynurse
Hey there, Thanks for the question. These shoes would be treadmill safe, but you might want to look for another shoe for use on a treadmill. While these are great trail running shoes, their rugged outsole and support system is ill-suited to the type of running you'd be doing on the treadmill. I would suggest looking for a shoe with a less aggressive tread and a bit more cushioning in the heel for this use. I hope this helps.

If you are unsure of how to find your foot measurement, use the instructions below. You will need a sheet of paper, ruler, pen, and a pair of socks you intend on wearing with the shoes you pick out.

• While wearing the socks, stand on the sheet of paper and place the heel of your foot against the wall. Make sure your heel is wedged firmly against it.

• Use the pen and ruler to draw a straight line just in front of your big toe.

• Use the ruler to measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew in front of your big toe.

• Once you have your measuremet, refer to the Foot Measurement Size Conversion chart above.

• Now treat yourself to a candy bar. You've worked hard today.
