Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I work in the woods, and I've been wearing these gaiters through three summers. They are just now wearing out, after dealing with briars, barbed wire, branches, and other abuse. Ticks are a major issue were I work and these go a long way towards protecting me from them. They are easy to put on, stay in place all day, and are so comfortable I usually forget I'm wearing them and keep them on until I get home on accident.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fit, easy closure, and keeps the bugs off. These short gaiters are mainly aimed at keeping the twigs, gravel, and BLOODSUCKERS out of your socks. I can't say if they would be much help for snow. I don't hike much in snow and do not expect that kind of protection from these. They do not claim to repel the wet. I live in tick heaven. Three seasons of the year, the trail side twigs and grass here are crawling with blood sucking disease vectors. These gaiters are light colored so you can see the little jerks crawling on you (I wear light pants as a rule too), they fit snuggish so I have not seen anything get under them (yet), and I have rarely seen ticks clinging to the outside of these. I presume it is due to the insect repellant that the gaiters come loaded with. I tend to have little faith in the bug repellants but it seems to be working with these... at least until the stuff washes or wears off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nothing worse than dozens of ticks climbing up your legs Not very high but helps with ticks in summer. Easy on and off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me I bought these gaiters to keep debris out of my boots when hiking. The area where the velcro overlaps at the ankle was so hard and thick that it dug into my leg making them unwearable.
