The 800 fill down is incredibly lightweight and when combined with the 100% nylon Whisperer 7D x 10D ripstop fabric, it is compressible into its own pocket and a wonder to behold. Seven ounces for just one super warm jacket? Yes, please. The hem cord cinches down with the pull of a single toggle to block drafts while "Butter Jersey" cuffs wrap your wrists to do the same. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freakishly light, surprisingly warm Product received quickly and for a lower price than you probably want me to list. Even knowing the specs for the jacket ahead of time, it's surreally lightweight. I've comfortably worn it in as warm as 45F with a t-shirt, and I used it for a 90 minute run at 8F on top of a heavy baselayer and basic mid layer (without an additional shell). Adding a shell to the layering would make this very, very warm. Pocket placement is nice for hip straps. I'm most excited to use this jacket for backpacking, as it will eliminate several items I typically bring. In warmer months, it can be used at night along with a sheet in lieu of a sleeping bag in my hammock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super, super lightweight! I bought this a couple of weeks ago after admiring it on a friend. Yes, it is super lightweight like not wearing anything at all. It was also on sale which made the purchase a little bit easier. However, the fit (medium) was big considering that I always normally fit a medium from other makers. It did not have that fitted or slim fit that the other reviewers had mentioned. Probably a thick sweater would have provided a better fit but I was not intending to use the jacket as a layering. Perhaps a small would have been better but I was not ready for the extra hassle of returning the item again if it did not fit. Really wanted this jacket but no luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insanely Light & Warm This jacket is indescribably light and warm. It compresses very well into its own pocket. Perfect for 25 to 50 degrees, and could comfortably go lower with a good, wind-blocking shell. Great stuff. Moosejaw service and shipping was perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Supernaturally light garbage bag from the future!" ... that's how a recent camping partner described the Ghost Whisperer, which seems to violate a handful of mechanic / thermodynamic principles in its very existence. Even in a large, it's uber-light while staying crazy toasty. I typically use it as a midlayer underneath a hardshell, which might be its best use — because of its aforementioned barely-there-ness, it's not something you'd necessarily want to take bushwacking. And after packing down (and down and down and down), you'll need to give it a good refluffing to get the down evenly distributed. But it's completely worth the effort for a comfortable, close-cut performance insulator that punches above its weight on treks both long and short. From urban cycling to backcountry wandering, it does a dang good job of keeping you toasty like a marshmallow without making you look like a marshmallow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket is full of shear awesomeness and is epically lightweight! This this is awesome. Ok, honestly, I have not been able to try it out yet because I live in south Georgia. AKA...It's freakin hot down here. However, it is super comfortable, and lightweight. the fact that it can stuff into its own pocket is a plus. I have the mountain hardwear super light plasmic rain jacket, and it fits over it perfectly, especially for added wind and water resistance. I can already tell, you will definitely not want to be rough with this thing. The material is super light, hints the sub 8 oz that the jacket weighs. Even though it may say that it is super durable, I am going to steer clear from testing the limits on its durability. The sleeves @ the cuffs could be a little tighter, cause they are a little loose. The zipper is a little flimsy, but I guess it would have to be for it to stuff into its own pocket. I highly recommend this jacket, especially if you are looking for a lightweight down jacket. It's epically awesome!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, warm, stylish The Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer is a very good jacket in the category of "ultralight" down. It's warm for its size, has a great one-pull draw string around the waist, and has a very warm collar. Some downsides include potential to rip - tree limbs, even on its own zippers, which could tear and expose the down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket I love the fit and the light weight to the jacket. Stylish also. I go wish they added 1 extra ounce of down for more warmth. It is not the warmest jacket. Water repel land down is nice also. The weight shows at 7.2, but my xl one tips the scales at 8 ounces at least....7.2 must be for the small version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, comfortable, and warm! This jacket is super light and packs very small, which makes it a great choice as either your main jacket or a spare extra layer for any trip. The zipper does feel flimsy and makes me worried about it snagging, but no problems yet!
