Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent Parka It is the best parka that I've had. It is extremely warm, although it can be used with temperatures above freezing, to 10 degrees I have been without feeling cramped by heat. The hydratic membrane makes it waterproof. The sizing I found something big, use a size L normally, but here asked for the M and goes perfect. Mido 183cm and weight 77kg. The quality is wonderful, exterior and interior, the hood is wide and the hair does not bother anything. I have the impression that you will be with me for years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great parka that is not overly bulky but will keep you warm for most purposes. This is a great parka. I tried a couple of other products such as the North Face McHaven and the Craghoppers Mayman and I liked the Fjallraven much better. It has a very tough outer material that is extremely wind and water proof. The hood is very warm and although the fur is a bit larger than I normally would like, when there is blowing snow and cold wind I'm happy it's there. There are a number of pockets on both the inside and outside of this parka and all outer pockets are fleece-lined, which makes them very warm. Also, and because I had to look this up as well, this has a much tougher outer material than the Fjallraven Yupik, so this will handle the bad weather much better. ,,,,The only potential downside is that if it were to get really cold (below 0) then you may want to wear a layer underneath, such as a fleece or light down jacket, although that's to be expected.,,,,One last note, this parka runs large. I am 5'10" 160lbs and I had to get a Small, so be warned.,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable top of the line winter parka thats does everything Fjallraven says it will, expensive! The Fjallraven Barents Parka is another top of the line product that anyone who buys Fjallraven has come to expect. This parka is made to taking a beating and last winter after winter if not your entire life time and you will look stylish while rocking it. So hands down this is a top notch parka that will absolutely meet your winter needs be aware it is long and as a man that stands at 6,1" it comes down to my mid thigh which I like because it will keep my ass warm. A large fits me perfectly and I have a 42" chest and a arm length netween 33" to 34" but anyone under 6' with similar measurements as me may find it to be on the long side for them. I will end by saying this jacket is very expensive but the quality is absolutely there and I would hands down buy the barents over a similar northface parka or even a similar Patagonia parka not that either company has anything that similar. Also this is not a technical jacket for climbing or skiing but it can be used for every other winter a

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I own more outerwear than anyone I know, and I own it so I can go outside. There are a lot of different conditions the weather can throw at you, and this item is for the coldest days. After about a mile, I'm unzipping the chest and letting off steam. The exterior is tough as nails. I wax my other Fjallraven gear, but this one is fine with its hydratic lining, and the fact that extreme cold doesn't support extreme moisture. I have never felt the cold creep through, but I'm wearing appropriate layers underneath, too. I don't feel like the arms are too long, or the insulation too thin. I just wish it were really cold more often so I could wear it more often. Pair this with a balaclava and the fuzzy Fjallraven hat, put on some insulated pants, and you won't get far before you need to open up. Happy Trails!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT parka! I bought this in Dark Gray as a birthday gift for my husband. He loves it! Along with the most important factor—that it's kept him toasty on the coldest days this winter—his favorite features are the length (mid-thigh and slightly longer curved hem in the back), the convenient pockets, and fun details like the leather zip pulls and slightly darker gray panels providing a subtle contrast at the shoulders/arms/back. A durable, beautifully made parka that he looks forward to using for many years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs Large !! Awesome jacket, but runs one size to large. The insulation was a little thinner than I expected and wasn't aware that it wasn't goose down.Would like to have had real fur on hood but not a big deal.Returned jacket and purchased a Fjallraven Mens Kyl Parka. This parka is heavy duty and has goose down filling. It was more expensive, but everything I wanted.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice coat, if you have arms like an orangutang The arms on this coat are long. I mean, LONG. I'm six feet tall. I bought a size large, which fits fine around the girth. But the arms are so long that only the very tips of my longest fingers stick out. I don't get it. Maybe Swedes can't afford gloves.

whats the equivalent down fill power rating for a this jacket? is it the equivalent to a 550? 600? 700?

Asked by: danzi
Hey there, This coat is insulated with 100% polyester Supreme Microloft. Unfortunately there is no information available on what this would be equivalent to in fill power for down as the properties that determine this are not able to be compared to how synthetic insulation is constructed. This jacket would be great in almost all winter conditions and should keep you warm wherever you wear it.

Hi I am 72 kg heavy and 180 cm tall. Usually I wear big Irish wool sweaters in winter. I wear ample parkas. The lenght of the inner leeve is 60 cm and the lenght of the back is 78 cm.Usually the leeves go to the half of the hands.Hich size do you reckon?

Asked by: SAMUEL
Heyo! Thanks for the question. Based on your height/weight I would recommend size medium. If you'd like a looser fit a size large would also work. Hope this helps!
