Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Audi of helmets I had it on all day and literally forgot I was wearing it. It's super light, has very low clearance over the top of my dome, and has great air circulation. The adjustments system on the Vapor is so quick and easy, you can ratchet it tighter with one hand while you're wearing it and not get your hair stuck in the system. I snugged mine down so tight it didn't budge. Even with it tight I had great circulation and didn't overheat. The chin strap is tight and easy to adjust. I can't speak to its longevity but one weekend at Red Rocks and I'm loving it. Despite the high price tag, I can honestly say I'm very impressed. This is definitely the Audi of helmets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm wearing a helmet? This is by far the lightest helmet I have ever worn. I am amazed at the ratings it has received. When I am climbing the only reminder that I have a helmet on is the chin strap and the photos of a sweet looking helmet afterward. It fits great in my hood and perfectly over a skull cap on a cold day.,,If you are going to do something stupid wear a brain bucket. If you are going to wear a brain bucket wear one that looks cool, keeps cool and feels non existent. ***Don't go for the red. That's my color and I don't want to match everyone on the crag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Superlight, very comfy, adapts really well to my head shape, very comfy, excellent ventilation. Good adjustment, straps well placed. The only downside for me is that may be than due its lightness the shell is weak, and soon appear scratches and little bumps on the surface. This would'nt be a problem if the helmet was not that expensive...The cheap version called "vector", seems good but I tried it and the straps itched a lot my front, they are placed too ahead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Helmet I've Worn; just one thing... Far and away this is the best helmet I've ever worn, and I have a larger than average head (by a bit), and it still hugs just tight enough to stay in place. The straps don't cut off your ears either, which is great!,,,,I got this helmet as a summer/fall guide so I'm wearing it for hours at a time, and you forget it's there.,,,,The only thing I have to say is the forehead pad is a little abrasive, but my workaround was a folded bandanna/headband that doubled as a sweatband; problem solved!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like having a cloud strapped to your head I tried this helmet on at my local shop and was immediately smitten. It's so light that you really do forget you're even wearing it. The straps tighten down in all the right places to give that secure feeling without digging into your skull or chin. The sizing is perfect and really measures up to the level of quality you expect to get from a BD product. Although it is a little on the pricy side, it's well worth the investment to make it part of your crag gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No reason to not use it... I've been using this helmet now for the past few years, and i'm still surprised as to the duruabilly of such a lightweight soft shell helmet. I've had rock and ice impact the shell many times over the time, but still have full confidence in this piece. I love the low profile fit to the helmet and fits very nicely under all sorts of hoods. You really do forget its on....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Light, Stylish, Somwhat Delicate I've spent all my time climbing beforehand with a hard plastic helmet and it worked fine until a friend recommended a lighter foam helmet, I handled it and tried it on and it was a noticeable difference. I decided to order a Vapor since it had a great sale price, and it is so light that I don't even notice its on and forget to pack it at the end of the day. It looks awesome, of course, but the its lightness and breathability will be your biggest asset. Cons? Well, it is a foam helmet, and the hard cover on it is prone to denting. This has no impact on the performance of the helmet as I understand, it's more cosmetic, but if you are a hard-on-your-gear type, you'd likely prefer a hard plastic helmet. The price as well. I was ok with it since I had a deal but for beginners or casual once-in-a-while types not looking to push the limit, I'd recommend a hard plastic helmet like the Black Diamond Half Dome or Petzl Elios or some near variation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saw it in the store, tried it on, had to have it as I am a minimalist backpacker Fantastic webbing and strap system and exceptionally easy to adjust. Been out three times and still have no dents on it. Hope it is as good as it looks and feels if the big one smacks it from above because someone forgets to scream ROCK, ROCK, ROCK!. It breathes really great in the heat, my buff neck gator fits under it perfectly, (I'm a bit sun shy in terms of UV damage and various types of skin damage) and I very quickly forget that I even have it on. My only frustration right now is that I bought a black one when they first came out, and now there are white and red available. When you make a powder blue, I'll upgrade. Seriously, this is one of those fantastic pieces of gear that is worth every farthing it costs. It packs well when I have to hike into a site, I bought the clips for it, they work great, I can put a shade ring or headlamp on it as needed. It goes well with my Infinity Pack. Another fantastic piece of gear that two of my climbing buddies have upgraded to.
