The Big Agnes Big House 6 Tent is a family camping tent for groups of six. The Big House 6 is ready for three season action at the camp ground or base camp, with easy color coded grommet webbing for fast set ups. The poles are connected to the tent body with sleeves and clips for strength and quickness. The free-standing structure has an internal head height of 75 inches, plenty of room to stand up while changing, stretch your legs on a rainy day, or sit up straight during a game of cards. The two doors are spacious for quick escapes to the outdoors in the middle of the night, or being the first to the showers in the morning. The mesh sections provide ventilation, or roll and store the doors to the side so a breeze and move straight through. The full rain fly is made of polyester with a 1500mm waterproof polyurethane coating to protect the family from driving rains. The Welcome mat at the front door helps remind young ones to leave their shoes outside before piling inside. Nobody wants to sleep in a pile of sand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Big" is in its name twice for a reason STAFF REVIEW: I took this bad mamajama to Moab for a 3 night stay. It was a car camping trip so weight and size weren't an issue. The fact that "Big" is in it's name twice is no mistake. This sucker is massive, but packed down relatively well for the fact that my 6' tall self was able to stand up in it no problem. Without using the vestibule, two of us had more than enough room for gear, sleeping pads and bags and dirty shoes in the corner and could have still had two more people in there. A windstorm kicked up wicked bad the first night and I thought we might be in trouble considering how tall it is, but it held up brilliantly! Setup was a breeze as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS TENT IS GREAT!!!!!!! This tent was fantastic for 2 people and a dog, car camping through the National Parks in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming on a 60-night trip!,,,,Had temps from a high of 102 to a low of 34, and several thunderstorms. This tent was great in all, although I'd opt for something smaller (to concentrate body heat) with less screen if I was doing a trip solely in cold weather.,,,,Very sturdy in winds, assuming you use the guy lines (we added more -- there are plenty of attachment points). Having three poles makes it very stable, and metal poles are much tougher than fiberglass.,,,,The best thing about this tent in really hot areas is that the poles and guy lines are set up so that you can roll the sides of the rain fly up to allow for maximum ventilation WITHOUT taking the fly off. This means that if rain hits, it literally takes about 30 seconds to unroll the sides and clip them down. This is a HUGE advantage over many other "well-ventilated" tents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This tent withstood 60 mph winds! Although I read and appreciate honest feedback from others, I'm not usually one to review stuff, but this Big Agnes tent is like no other. Let me explain...this past summer, my daughter, her friend, and I decided to pack up and head to the UP of Michigan, along the shores of Lake Superior, to do a little camping, hiking, and kayaking for a week. Towards the end of our adventure, it started to storm. This was not your typical storm, this was one that my almost 50 year-old brain said, let's forgo cooking dinner and head for that little bar down the road. At the bar, the power went out while sheets of rain blew across the road and trees bent perilously. Emergency vehicles sped by and we learned that a possible tornado had struck the campground. We arrived back at camp to find trees down, tents down, trees on campers, etc. As we rounded the corner, expecting the worse, there she stood, our Big Agnes, unscathed (insert heavenly music, and a ray of sunlight shining down on our tent).

Wondering if this tent design had enough screened vents to stay comfortable enough in warmer and muggy environs.   Any opinions if the mesh would likely keep the "no see ums" out that are a real problem in southern Florida.

Asked by: NaplesFlyfisher
Hey there, This tent contains several areas of mesh construction for maximum ventilation, including areas on the top, sides and the doors. The mesh itself is very fine and should keep small bugs out with no issues. I hope this helps.
