Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outrageously good I am a real gear nerd - disproportionate to how much I use the gear I buy! I wanted a really great sleeping bag. I read all the reviews, all the specs, I tried dozens out in REI. I am 6'3 and 165lbs. Western Mountaineering are the best sleeping bag manufacturers. This bag is insanely well constructed, made in america, by a fairly small enterprising company. I highly recommend it if you want a lightweight and comfortable sleeping bag. It compresses down into a tiny size. My only concern with this bag is that it might be TOO good/warm. Camping in the rain in Santa Cruz in October and I had to leave this bag open else I was too hot - a good sign! I got the long length and have acres of space to leave water filters and gas tanks and my dog in it with me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bag! I got this bag for an upcoming thru hike. I've used it now several times and I can't be more pleased with it. There's a reason why Wester Mountaineering is the leader in quality sleeping bags!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and Durable This ultra lightweight yet warm bag is the ultimate in comfortable sleeping. I personally like the wider shoulder area and the ease of using the zipper over many other bags I have owed. I purchased my first Western Mountaineering bag in 1976 when they had a store in San Jose, CA. This will certainly not be my last Western Mountaineering purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an awesome sleeping bag! It's light, it's warm, it's roomy and it packs incredibly small. What more do you need?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy wa! Buy once, cry once! This thing is awesome! I am about 5'7" and 170 pounds and the 6' bag fits great. My chest size is 42", i don't really compress any of the baffles on the side or the top. I was told that it may be a bit slim for me, but after trying it, I am comfortable with it. This bag is beyond light and super warm. I wasn't a big fan of the stuff sack it came with, but that was easily remedied by picking up a 10L stuff sack, I feel as though I could go smaller, but didn't want to squeeze the crap out of the feathers and loose some loft. The bag also comes with a storage bag to allow the bag to stay lofty and not compressed at all. Overall, I would definatley recommend this bag and can solidly say that this will probably be the last bag I buy for anything over 15 degrees(i know it is a 20 degree bag, but Im pretty sure it'll do well down to at least 10, but i make sure to take up any dead space with clothing for the next day to keep it warm). Cheers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfy! Granted I haven't used this yet but it is so light weight--it's awesome. Very comfortable and soft. I looked at women specific bag but felt claustrophobic around the shoulders. I liked the shoulder room in the men's bag. This will serve me well on the AT in September! ,,

I'm 5'6 with wider hips. Will the short work or would it be better to go with the 6'0?

Asked by: Traveller108
Hiya, thanks for your question! I'm 5'6" and I have a short Western Mountaineering SummerLite bag. It fits fine for me but I wish there was a little more height to store some clothes at the bottom while I'm in it. Your hips... I hear they don't lie ;)... should fit in either size, so it just depends on if you prefer a little more length. Hope this helps!

Hi, I'm 5,91 ft height which size fits me better regular or long? Regards, Hugo C.

Asked by: hugocaesar
Hey there Hugo, you would want to pick up the Regular length for this item. Regular fits folks up to 6' tall. The Short size fits those up to 5'6" and the Long length fits people up to 6'6". With a sleeping bag, you want to choose one that is long enough to fit you but not TOO long, so you would definitely want to go with Regular and not Long.

Would this be to warm for Summer months? Also how small can this bag compress down too?

Asked by: Amber
Hiya Amber, thanks for your question! It depends how you sleep. I have the Western Mountaineering SummerLite 32 Degree Sleeping Bag, and it is toasty warm. If you planning to use it year-round, you might want to invest in the warmer bag but if you are just using it during warm months, you could get away with a lighter bag. Hope this helps!

Hello, does this bag have DWR or any type of water resistance?

Asked by: Vidrio21
Hiya, thanks for your question! This bag is has a breathable, water resistant shell. It can lose it's effectiveness with use but the outer shell fabric can be re-treated to restore water resistance. Hope this helps!

How does this bag compare to the Terralite 25- they seem really similar and I think may weigh the same? I'm looking to drop a few ounces by upgrading from my Marmot Meteor Penguin 15- which is comfy, but more than I often need & weighs about 2lb 7.

Asked by: Terry
Hey Terry, The weights of these bags are very similar. The regular length of the UltraLite 20 is about 1 lb 13 oz and the average weight of the Terralite 25 is 1 lb 8 oz or a claimed weight of 1 lb 13 oz. Besides the temperature ratings these are very similar bags, both designed for 3 season use.

Does 5'6'' fits well for a 5'5'' person? will it feel tight?

Asked by: brad
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! The Western Mountaineering UltraLite 20 Degree Sleeping Bag 5 ft 6 in should fit you considering your 5 ft 5 in. I'm not sure how you sleep, but it is a mummy-style bag which can sometimes feel a bit constrictive. Sleeping bags keep you warm by trapping your body heat, so you don't want too much extra space. Also, extra space equals more weight in your pack. If you're still undecided, there's the 6 ft bag. I hope this has helped!

Asked by: Danno
Hey there, Danno! Great question. I just tested this out myself to be sure with two left zips, and they do zip together to make one awesomely big and cozy bag! Hope this helps!
