Rated 1 out of 5 by from This backpack is not waterproof!!! I use this bag to commute almost every day to work. The reason I selected the Especial Medio after a lot of research was the size and the fact that it was waterproof. I was assured by the sales person at the store that it would keep the water out. It is also clearly stated on the website. This backpack is not waterproof! Maybe water-resistant at best. Today was a rainy day, one that requires a waterproof bag. My commute is around 50min. My cloths in the bag were wet! My laptop was wet and the screen is ruined!!! Do not buy this backpack if you are looking for something waterproof!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I was skeptical about getting another pack as my closet is full of them, but after getting this bag I've given away several others to make room for it. I use this pack everyday commuting to work. I can fit shoes and gym clothes into the specific pockets of the bag besides a lunch and work documents/laptop. The bag can carry everything I need but still has a low profile look and sleek design. I'm also in love with the straps and back support, they allow airflow through so you won't get sweaty cycling to work. The back foam also has a cut out for your spine so you won't feel your laptop digging into you back while cycling. Its a perfect commuting bag, I use it everyday.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Commuter Backpack Good bag. 3.5 Stars. I use this backpack for school. Can carry quite a bit, but not as much as i thought it would be able to carry. Although its a deep bag, it can't hold a lot in terms of expansion. Books/Folders can't be stacked on each other. BUT, i did go grocery shopping and fit a bunch of stuff in it =]. The velcro strap for the u-lock is also slightly awkward. Its a bit hard to just shove the u-lock in the pocket and ride off without taking the backpack off. Would've been much better if the strap was not a velcro. I would recommend this bag to a friend if it wasn't as expensive. Don't get me wrong, its a good backpack, but for some reason i expected more for what i paid, because ~190 +/- after taxes is a bit steep.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice This was a gift for my son who uses it for college It fits his helmet, workout gear, laptop and school stuff easily and so far has worked out great. Lots of pockets and compartments. Miss the dedicated padded sunglasses pocket his old e pack had, but this holds his bike helmet and is nicely padded. Not to heavy and comfortable. I thought there was a free gift available (a bike pack) and checked the box when ordering but it did not appear on my invoice or with my order so not sure what happened and never followed up after holidays. Order took longer than expected to arrive but came in a cute plastic bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag This is a fantastic bag. I didn't get a chance to look at it as I bought it online. It's a little larger than I needed, but with the straps tight it stays quite manageable. One thing is that it's taller than similarly sized bags. This increases the comfort when there is weight in the bag. I commute with my laptop each day and the bag is very comfortably positioned on my upper back. One minor complaint is that the laptop strap is way too long; I have a MacBook retina, and the strap has space for something 50% larger which makes it more annoying than useful. Like I said this is minor, definitely wouldn't stop me from getting the bag again. It's excellently made!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great pack overall! I use this pack daily to bike commute in rainy Vancouver, CAN. It is made with the same bomber construction and attention to detail as all the T2 bags I own. The multiple pockets and laptop sleeve make this pack very functional for day to day commuting but also for small hikes, travel and packing alot of gear to bike races. The large size profile is a benefit, it does have the drawback of obstructing your shoulder checks somewhat, just requiring a longer and deeper turn than I was used to with my previous narrow profile hiking pack. Overall I am very pleased with this pack and would recommend it to anyone. I look forward to riding with it for many years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bag! A couple improvements. I use this bad to commute on my bike in the daily Portland rain. It doesn't look it but the bag is surprisingly quite waterproof! My contents always arrive dry! It's also more spacious than it looks online. The ulock pouch is a savior and the bottle holders on the other side keeps bottles in even when going off curbs! The biggest complaint I have about the bag is how the bottom is felt and not the waterproof material. It has gotten so dirty from spray from the bottom of my bike and nothing I do can properly clean it. Also, if you use the bag a lot, the bottom of the back padding gets a lot of wear. But that's probably expected for what I put it through. That will probably be the first area of the backpack to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some style over substance So lets just say it upfront. It has zippers instead of a rolltop/flap. Its not as weather proof as some of the other bags in the line. Particularly if you aren't careful when you zip up the main compartment and the small upper pocket. You don't want to leave the zippers meeting in the middle up top. They need to meet off on one of the sides where rain is less likely to squeeze between the two zips/pool up and drip in. I rode through an absolute 30 minute downpour and had all the contents of my bag stay perfectly dry except for the small upper pocket (didn't push the zipper all the way into the protective tab/cover). Having said all that.. It looks way better than the other bags in the line. The pockets are in all the right useful places. Its a great size for the vast majority of riders out there. The padding is GREAT and its built like a tank. Zippers are never as good as a flap/roll and that's ok. Just know the compromise up front.
