Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for the price, but don't recommend for cold weather I bought two of these, as the combined R-value and weight was more or less equivalent to much pricier 4-season Therm-A-Rest pads. Overall happy with how the two pads work together. If one gets a hole, I'll still have some insulation without having to carry a repair kit. I'm not one to compromise padding for reduced weight, as I have severe scholiosis and can't sleep comfortably on a hard/rocky ground. I am 5'9", and bought two small-sized pads. I have slept very comfortably on a frozen ground with the two pads together. One alone wouldn't be ideal for me, but would probably be fine for others with less sensitive spines. I may eventually spring for a more expensive pad so I only have to inflate and deflate one every day and can save room in my pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort and light weight I purchased the "small" size about 3 years ago and had only used a closed cell foam pad or a very old 48" therm-a-rest that weighed a pound and a half. I find it quite comfortable. It took me a few times to get the inflation just right, but now is sleep very well on it. It packs pretty small too, with just a little effort. I don't think you can beat the price for anything this light weight and comfortable. I haven't had any leaks. I may have not secured the inflation valve one night, but that was my fault.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely comfy... like it! I bought this baby in Medium with my MJ Reward $, and man it is comfy. For your information, I have not used this for outdoor usage... yet. My course work requires hours of studying so I sometimes can't go home before the next day's morning class. So I just... sleep on the floor of my office. Even when done with the second year, I presume I will still be using this pad for nights of research to come. For all PhD students out there, hang in there!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy. You want to sleep comfortably but you don't have much moolah. This is the sleeping pad for you. I am a side sleeper but with the right pillow, this pad fits my needs (I am 5'5" and 125lbs). It doesn't come with a patch kit but I am not too worried about durability and the non-slip material is a plus (especially compared to the more expensive slippery or noisy pads). Perfect for the low tech budget backpacker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not bad The pad is very comfortable and keeps you warm at night. This pad actually has a great "R" rating. I use it when backpacking and it works. Be sure to bring a patch kit. Cause you never know. Sleeping on the ground really sucks and is bad for the back also. When I car camp, I bring something much bigger and comfortable, but for backpacking this does the job. A good buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pad for the price Spent 9 days on this pad and it was comfy and warm. Rolling on your side is a bit uncomfortable in the hip/shoulder area, but I don't know of a pad where you wouldn't feel that (not for this price anyway). I almost bought the Z-Lite, but I'm glad I didn't- my tent-mate had that pad and my Trail Scout was indeed smaller and more comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, packable, and comfortable! This pad is comfortable and very easy to set up. Once you set up camp roll this bad boy out and open the valve and then go cook your dinner and when you're ready to call it a night just close the valve and you're good to go! Very comfortable for how thin and packable it is and great for the price $$!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for this price point. Light weight and packable. For the price point this is a great sleeping pad. It is light weight and packable. I am 5' 1" & 125 pounds, I purchased a medium and it is a perfect fit. I live in Georgia so I can not say how this product performs in freezing temps. In the forties this provides excellent warmth and comfort.

what is the denier on this pad? and does it have an anti microbial inside (if i had to blow in it)? thanks.

Asked by: isaac
hiya Isaac, thanks for your question! The inside is not anti-microbial. It auto inflates so it doesn't require much blowing into it unless you prefer a firm feel. The exterior is made from urethane, there is no denier. Hope this helps!
