ThermaCapture Radiant Heat Technology is a proprietary reflective coating that we apply to a range of surfaces. By reflecting radiant heat back to your body that is otherwise lost, this extremely lightweight coating turns that surface into a very efficient heat reflector, amplifying warmth without the excess weight or bulk of added, conventional insulating materials.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sacrifice in size but not in weight or value This pad is pretty large when rolled. No way it could fit inside a pack. Strapping it to the outside has never been a bother and I like having easy access for when I want to stop and take a quick rest. Since it is strapped to the pack, it is almost always exposed to the elements but I haven't noticed any significant wear. It stays pretty clean, keeps shape, and always keeps me warm enough for sleep.,,,,I would opt for a warmer mat during the winter. Noticeably warmer at first, but it doesn't hold heat all the way through the night (Although I suppose my hopes are a little high in this idea).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Ultralight product, but the best ist the Thermarest Solar This Pad whit my mummy form weight only 114 gr, but the height of the foam was too low, I feel the cool of the ground. the Solar is better for only 144 gr whit mummy form, you have ultracomfort when sleeping and an effective thermo inusulation.,,,,Chart:,,,,,,Solite Solar ,,,,comfort 3/5 4,5/5,,Insulation 3/5 4,5/5,,Price 5/5 4/5,,Weight 5/5 4,5/5 whit mummy form only 1 oz more,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The classic sleeping pad I've seen this exact model, only 20 years older and still holding up. It's the classic sleeping pad. Lightweight and simple, but still protects you from the rocks and roots. If you're one of those who like soft beds and air mattresses it might not be for you. The pad is pretty thin, though it still does a decent job of insulation. The new silver finish on the top is great, but mine has started to rub off a bit on this pad, though I've only had it for a month (though I was using it everyday the entire time). It doesn't hurt the quality of the pad, but it's a bit of a bummer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soooooo warm!! I recently purchased 2 of these pads, and was skeptical of how they would perform, thinking that I would certainly need to layer them in order to keep the cold air from ruining my chances of good sleep. I sleep in a hammock when I camp out, and therefore the cold air from below me is always robbing me of good sleep. However, when I got cozy in my hammock with both pads under me, I was soon sweating despite the cool (40ish degrees) night air outside my hammock. All this to say, this pad is VERY efficient at reflecting body heat and keeping out the cold, especially for the affordability. and though this pad is not the most comfortable, it is literally indestructible and so durable! Great pad, definitely a keeper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good low cost sleeping pad Tried this out during an indoor camping trial run on my hardwood floors without heat on (40-50F air temp). A little bulkier than inflatable pads but it's light and would work strapped to the bottom of a pack. Comfort and insulation was good for back sleeping. Was OK for side sleeping but most people will probably get sore in the shoulder/hip areas. Also tried pairing it with a self-inflate pad (on the bottom) and that made the combo real comfortable and warm. Would recommend for the casual camper, especially car campers, who aren't looking to spend too much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong with this pad I chose this pad over an inflatable because of the low price and the fact that it is not prone to getting holes. I bought the regular, and it rolls up pretty large. You're not going to be able to store this inside any pack, you pretty much have to lash it to the outside, but it is very light. The moment you lay down on it, you instantly feel warmer. The foam is also very good at holding its shape, I have stepped on it multiple times and each time it rebounds back into place. My only concern is the size, but considering the price, it's well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best & most reliable sleeping pad for the money This sleeping pad is amazing in every aspect for a serious backpacker. It is extremely light and attaches perfectly to the bottom of my pack. I am into section hicking and I wouldn't take anything else. An inflatable pad had the possibility of getting a hole and then its done for. This pad can get wet and dries quickly. I use it not only to sleep but as a sitting pad for eating lunch and around the camp fire. I would highly recommend this product for someone who is multiday hiking, section hiking, or thru hiking any trail. Works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for snow camping! I bought this as an extra sleeping pad for a winter camping trip. For the trip we built & slept in snow caves with two others. Body warmth made ditches in the floor of our snow cave after the first night so everyone would slide towards the middle with their inflatable pads. This pad was awesome because not only is it warm and comfortable, it kept me from slipping around all night! Definitely recommend this for winter campers who don't mind the extra baggage (not that it weighs anything).
