The North Face Women's Osito 2 Jacket is a silken fleece jacket for sashaying through town. The soft, silken jacket is made with high-pile raschell fleece to keep you warm against the fall and winter chill with TKA Superstretch at the cuffs to wrap closely around your wrists. Worn alone it can take on mild days as you pop in and out of stores, or wear underneath a hard shell jacket for a boost of mid-layer warmth. The updates for 2014 include a tailored waist for the feminine figure, an oversized collar for tucking your chin into against the wind, and the stretch cuffs I mentioned earlier that will block drafts. Oh-so-soft for everyday adventures, don't forget to grab your travel mug of coffee.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Jacket! Let me just say that this is my THIRD purchase of the Osito jacket. Not because my others have worn out, but because the quality of this jacket is unbeatable. Seriously, the price is worth the investment! When it was cold, I was able to wear only a tee shirt under this jacket and not feel a thing! It is so warm and comfy! I do not write reviews very often, but I felt compelled to write this one. I have not experienced any shedding or shrinkage after washing. I am 5'8, 160 lbs, 36in bust. I ordered a large and it fits perfectly. If you're thinking about getting this jacket, go ahead and get it. You will not regret it. What you will get is people wanting to touch your jacket because it is so soft!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect weight! I LOVE my new jacket! It is lightweight but heavey enough for almost any winter weather above 30 degrees. On really cold days, it's great for wearing indoors as a sweater. The color is beautiful and I always recieve compliments when I wear it. My only complaints are that some of the softness is lost and the fibers tend to loosen once you wash it - even if you air dry. And DO NOT put it in the dryer. The other complaint is that there are no petite sizes but it still works fine because of the style. It would just be a more flattering fit if the cut was a petite. (Moosejaw was also the best price anywhere on this jacket.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Osito Jacket and Osito Vests I bought the jacket and 2 vests because I thought they looked nice on others. I wore some very expensive sweaters with them. The jacket and the vests all shed so badly that the sweaters were practically ruined, and every thing and person I came in contact with was covered with the Osito fuzz. I was very embarrassed and received a number of comments about all the fuzz. I would advise washing the Osito products and leaving them in the dryer for at least an hour before wearing them. I am not sure it will take care of the fuzz and balls of lint, but it is worth a try. I don't understand why North Face would make such products. Buyer beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and Beautiful Jacket After reading MANY reviews of this product, I was hesitant to purchase this piece, but very glad I did. People complained of shedding, but I have yet to see any shedding come off this jacket. It is a beautiful color and keeps you very warm (I wear jackets all the time because the office is so cold). I am SO glad that I followed the sizing guide as in most clothing I am a medium and was prepared to buy the medium until the sizing guide pointed me to the large. It fits perfectly. I am 5'11" and 150lbs, so this was a beautiful jacket for my body type.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Osito - Sheds like nothing I've ever seen I was so excited and happy to wear this soft, comfy and stylish jacket. I loved everything about it until I found out that it sheds more than my Shiba Inu does. It's a gift from my daughter and I like the color pink and really love to treasure it but I hate that it's all over my black pants, my hair, my t-shirt, the seatbelt in my car - anything! It was not what I expected from a reputable brand and my thought is that did the company have quality control at all and how did this jacket passed that? I had to look online to check reviews and thankful mine is not the only one that sheds. I have the tags but no gift receipt so I'm not sure if North Face will honor warranty replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from People will want to hug you! This is my first TNF jacket and they have earned a customer for life. I was hesitant because of the price but it's well worth it. This jacket is so soft, my family loves to hug me. It fits true to size, I'm a women's XL and while it's more relaxed than fitted, I still look like a woman and not like I'm wearing a box. It also is roomy enough to wear a hoodie under it. Today it was 9 degrees out where I live and I was able to wear this with just a long-sleeved shirt under it with the collar zipped all the way up and I felt toasty. The wind didn't even cut through the fabric. I get a lot of compliments on this jacket. If you are nervous about spending money on TNF, I suggest you take the plunge, this is money well spent!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Make sure you buy a lint roller with your Osito 2 I exchanged the first Osito 2 that I bought because, after one day of use, I discovered a huge hole in the side seam. Obviously, I was really disappointed but I foolishly decided to get a replacement. I loved my Osito 2 for a couple of weeks until I noticed that it started shedding like crazy. It has been four months since I bought it and the shedding is getting worse. It is ridiculous and unwearable. I feel like it is falling apart. Whenever I use it, I get obnoxious black fuzz all over my clothing. My Osito 2 cannot go anywhere near my bed or sofa because of all the shedding. I'm truly disappointed in this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I can't believe it fits!! I'm a larger girl and have a horrible time finding things that fit me. I ordered this online from Moosejaw as it was the only place I could find NorthFace in a 3XL size. I received an email (which I love the humor in their emails) telling me that this was being ordered specially for me from the factory. This concerned me a bit but alas I waited for it to come. I tried it on and it fit beautifully as though it was truly made just for me. I can zip it up fully and not feel that its too tight. It fits over my sweaters and I love that it is so warm and doesn't add any bulk. I'm keeping my Moosejaw emails coming as I will definitely be ordering from them again.

Does this jacket shed at all?

Asked by: Connie
Hello there. Excellent question, and I'm very glad we can address it here. So, it is possible that you can own this jacket for years and never once have it shed. We've had plenty of customers who claim as much! However, because the fabric is high-pile raschell fleece, there is a small chance that it may shed. In the few cases where this has happened, the shedding abates after the first few uses. And after, as long as you follow the washing instructions, you shouldn't run into that problem ever again!

I am wondering what material is on the inside lining of the jacket? Is it also the same as the outside of the jacket? I am looking for one with this fury material on the inside lining.

Asked by: fury curious
Thanks for the question! Yes, the inside material is the same silken fleece as the outside :)

I am very petite, 5 foot tall, 110 lbs, but I am a bit top heavy with a 30DD. I worry that the small will be too long/boxy but I don't want to get an XS and it be too snug for comfort. What would you all recommend?

Hey there, Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to ask us a question! For the North Face Women's Osito 2 Jacket, your best bet will be to check out the size guide on our site. Regarding the North Face Women's Osito 2 Jacket :  Based on standard Polartec terminology, would you call this a 100 or 200 weight jacket?  I am looking for a 100 weight fleece jacket with zippable pockets and a fully opening front.

Asked by: smgradman
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Because Polartec is it's own thing, it's difficult to make a comparison to it. Like comparing apples to oranges, if you will. However, with this jacket, you will get many of the same features that Polartec 100 promises: warmth, comfort, breathability as well as a state of excellence when it comes to being warm single layering piece! Hope this helped you out.

So I know this jacket is not made for wet conditions but wife really wants this anyway. If this gets wet from the rain/snow would it still keep her warm?

Asked by: Chris
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! While this is one of the softer jackets we carry, it is not waterproof. If it gets slightly wet, you'd be ok. You'd still stay warm. And while this is a great mid-layer, I cannot recommend you wearing just this in the pouring rain or a heavy snow. For that, I'd suggest getting a waterproof jacket. Hope this helped you out!

We are going to Ireland in late Sept., and I need a jacket for the rainy, windy weather we will probably experience. I want lightweight, easy to move in. Is this asking too much for this jacket? I also want a soft coat----this sounds very nice.

Asked by: grandmaof5
Hey there, The Osito 2 Jacket works best as an insulating mid layer underneath a shell jacket, or worn alone in dry, cool conditions. It is not designed to be wind or waterproof, so I do not recommend for it to be worn alone in windy or wet conditions. It is very soft, though!

Can this zip into TNF triclimate jackets with the zip in technology? I already own this jacket (I keep buying them (yes, I have multiple...) from you guys when on sale!), and I am looking into purchasing TNF's Initiator Thermoball Triclimate. Any idea?

Asked by: arkaysea
Hiya, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, the Osito 2 jacket is not zip in compatible. ::sadface:: The zip in compatible liners are the Denali, Khumbu, Nuptse, Mossbud Swirl jackets. Hope this helps!
