The North Face Women's Venture Jacket is a waterproof rain jacket for taking along on all your wet outdoor adventures. The jacket uses the HyVent 2.5 layer membrane to keep the rain out, while remaining breathable to help regulate the heat. The 100% recycled nylon ripstop fabric provides durability for everything from walking to class or work, hiking through the woods, or shopping downtown. The wet weather can be a risky undertaking, but mighty tolerable when the Venture lays upon your shoulders. Built to take on wet weather in any season, you can layer up underneath when it's cold, or throw it on over your tank in the heat. The hood cinches down to prevent whipping winds from blowing it aside while the brim keeps droplets from dashing into your eyes. On the days where you're really heating up, open the pit zips for quick venting without getting soaked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Price Just bought this jacket and initial impressions are favorable. The variety of colors was an immediate turn on as was the more fitted look. I found that the sleeves were a little long but prefer this to the alternative. The price was reasonable especially when the features included are considered such as the adjustable cuffs, chin guard and comfortable hood. Personally I find that while North Face's hyvent isn't as breathable as some of the other current membranes, it is more important to have quality venting features such as pit zips and high mesh lined pockets. While I would like to see a two way waterproof front zipper on the venture, this jacket overall is a good buy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed. I purchased this jacket on the recommendation of my daughter, who was using it at college. I needed a lightweight waterproof jacket for occasional wear when traveling. The price was a bit steep for infrequent wear, but I loved all of the pockets and other features North Face included. It has been hanging in my closet for a couple of months and I pulled it out to wear to work today. Upon my arrival I discovered that the fabric was crumbling right along the edge of the seam sealing between the neck and hood of the jacket. NOT the quality and durability I expected from North Face and at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket - more than I expected This is my first North Face jacket ever purchased. When I first opened the box, I thought this couldn't really be what I ordered, it is so thin and light. Well the first snow after I got the jacket in the mail, I was out shoveling in it with my hood up. It kept me warm with just a sweater on underneath. Wind, what wind? I didn't feel any wind going thru my jacket at all. Thanks for making such a great product that is light, not bulky, keeps the cold and wind at bay and still provides excellent warmth. Not to mention even with all the snow, I was not soaked to the bone when I got back inside. Excellent jacket all around!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish and Functional I work in downtown Seattle where battling rain this time of year is a given. This jacket has already proven to be waterproof. I love the hood because it is deep enough to stay on my head even when I am wearing a ponytail. The velcro straps on the wrists are nice for adjusting how loose or tight you want them, depending on what you are layering underneath. The jacket zips all the way up to my chin to keep wind and rain out. I ordered both the Black and Miami Orange Venture Jackets in women's XXL. Online the Miami Orange looked more coral in color but, it was in fact orange orange. The fit is great; I'm a 16/18 or a XL-XXL top. There is room for me to wear a sweatshirt underneath. The sleeves are not short nor is the jacket. I would buy every color :) Hope this helps!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay Coat I am 5'5, 113lbs and purchased the small. I have purchased a lot of other items from The North Face and I am almost always a small; however, I wish I would have ordered an XS in this coat. It is a little baggy, but perfect if I want to put a sweatshirt under it. The only thing I do not like about this coat is that it packs into a mesh-lined pocket. Mesh is a lot less durable than other fabrics and the first time I packed it the mesh ripped. I thought I was being careful but I guess not. Be careful when you pack this coat into the pocket! Waterproofing is great on this coat. Recently wore it in Iceland and it rained every day but I stayed dry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Rainjacket. After reading loads of mixed reviews on this jackets I decided to buy it and try it out myself. I bought this jacket for my study abroad trip to Europe in a week as I needed something that was lightweight and easy to pack. I didn't think I'd have to use it before the trip but I have. When I first got the jacket I put it on and ran the sleeve under the faucet to test the waterproof claim and the water beaded right off and I stayed completely dry. It was raining all day the other day so I put on the jacket and again the water beaded right off, and it kept me warm. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and am trusting it to do its job in Europe!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Lightweight Jacket but Color Options Disappointing Love everything about this jacket except the color selection. I'm not a manly-girl by any stretch of the imagination but I would appreciate more color options that were not so specifically girl-oriented. Especially for an outerwear jacket, I prefer something neutral colored; however, this color palate is almost exclusively bright or pastel feminine colors. The one really nice more gender neutral option with some color sold out almost immediately - so, North Face, take that as an indication that just because I'm buying a female jacket does not mean I want to only choose from pinks, purples, and pastels!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket Bought this to replace an old Hyvent rain jacket which North Face replaced with its fabulous warranty! It's light in actual weight but fabric feels a bit thick and bulky when worn. Not uncomfortable or hot. Very waterproof, which is the main point! Love the colors (I have heather green). It can be worn camping, etc. or as a casual rain jacket around town. Wish it wasn't so stiff for packing. To help with fit: I'm generally a size 2, small bust, but have long arms so need a small in anything long sleeved in NF, but XS in t shirts, etc. Still, this feels bigger overall than most small NF jackets I've tried, yet I'm sure XS would be too tight in shoulders/ arms/hood.

can a North Face Denali Jacket be zipped into this jacket? If not are there any North Face rain jackets that can be paired with the Denali?

Asked by: missmel
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, the Venture jacket is not a part of the zip-in compatible collection from North Face. I'd check out Women's Varius Guide Jacket. Not only is it a solid coat all by itself, but it's one of the best rain jackets that North Face produces. Hope this helped you out!

Does this have pockets inside? The video makes it seem so but I want to be sure.

I'm looking for a rain jacket that will stand up to Ireland weather in October. It needs to keep me dry and comfortable. Would you recommend this jacket or something else?

Asked by: LuLu
Thanks for the question! I actually own the Venture jacket and took it with me to Nevada in February - which was rainy and low 60's. I would for sure suggest it for your trip to Ireland. Looks like the temps hit between 64 and 57°F during that time. There is no insulation, tho. But since it has a relaxed fit, there will be plenty of room to wear a sweater or fleece underneath. I also have an Arc'teryx Beta SL, but it is not very breathable. The reason I purchased the Venture is because of the pit zip venting - which was exactly what I needed walking around all day. Other options I was considering were the Patagonia Torrentshell and the Marmot PreCip Jacket. All three are comparable. It really comes down to your personal preference. The Venture kept me dry and I never felt restricted or uncomfortable. You can never go wrong with a North Face. I hope this helps a little!
