The North Face Women's Tyndall Coat is a down filled coat for your daily commute through cold weather. A quilted chest and sleeves holds pockets of 550 fill power down, while changing into wide baffles past the waist for a classic touch to a modern jacket. The drop hood allows the collar to stay up and protect your neck when it's pushed back off your head or, completely remove that sucker if you think it'll mess up your hair. A total of three pockets (two exterior, one interior) zip closed for securing your smartphone, gloves, or peanuts to snack on. I recommend those little airplane sized packets.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Make sure to account for the booty when purchasing Bought this coat in a small for my girlfriend for xmas / a weekend trip to the always-cold Chicago. She normally wears smalls in her regular north faces, so I went small here.. The bottom part, where the panels are more separated and not quilted, barely zipped over her butt. Yes, she has been working out, and yes she has a fine one, but it was too tight for comfort. I had to swap it out for a medium and the process was FLAWLESS. I hopped on the chat function here, told them what I wanted, gave them my CC # over chat (was a little leary) and it was at my desk at work 16 HOURS LATER. I just had to return the Small one to the nearest Moosejaw outfitter. Solid. Only giving it a 4/5 because of the lack of booty room but overall - she loves it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loving my new coat! The jacket that I bought was true to size. I've received a compliments on the quilted pattern from friends, and the design itself is pretty cute. I just wish the North Face logo was more visible (white on black like the older jackets I have from them) however, it seems like a move they are implementing on more of their newer jackets (having the logo be less visible). The front is the only place with the logo, nothing on the back. One problem I have encountered with this coat would be that it sheds like crazy! I tend to wear black a lot at the office, and every morning when I take off my coat the feathers that are coming out of it are extremely visible. This is the only con that I've found with this jacket, otherwise I love it. It might just be mine, but if anybody has a solution to stop the shedding please let me know!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Jacket!! I bought this during our first snow storms for the last four years and this jacket is awesome. Although it's not completely waterproof, I have walked my dog in the rain and snow and returned home dry. The design is very flattering and I have received lots of compliments. And please if everyone would do this, it would save so many try and return sizes, is to put your height okay maybe not your honest weight but at least your build and what size you bought and how it fit. This would save everyone so much time and be so helpful than sending things back and forth to get it right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great everyday coat This coat is great for running errands and such and it will be great for days that are around 35-40 degrees. It's not nearly as warm as the metropolis parka for the colder days but it will be awesome to have for the cooler early spring days. The other thing I like is that this coat has a feminine silhouette and is fitted through the waist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfy!! I was looking for a super comfy warm coat and this is it! I actually fell asleep wearing the coat it is that comfortable! It is a great coat to go to and from the car while running errands and also outside with my kids. I am 5'7'' and weigh 125 and ordered a Medium. It fits great and I can easily wear a sweater underneath. It has the waist that you can tighten so that gives it a more customized fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket I just bought this and haven't worn it yet, but I love the fit and feel. I am 5' tall, size 2 or 4 and fully expect this jacket to fit over a medium weight sweatshirt or sweater. The length will keep my legs and tushy warm without overwhelming my short legs. I'm dying to wear this thing, but it's still 85 degrees here in NC, so I either need to move or wait impatiently for winter weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very cozy Received this coat as a gift for Christmas, and so glad that I did. It fits true and keeps me nice and warm in the cold Wisconsin weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous coat! I bought this a month ago. It is the most flattering warm coat I've ever had. I'm 5'2" and 110 pounds and the small is plenty big enough to wear over a thick sweater. And the inner drawstring waist allows modification depending on thickness of regular clothes. The two different quilting styles make this jacket pop.

hi there, is this jacket have to be dry clean or hand wash?

Asked by: raleigh
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! The North Face recommends machine wash on warm and tumble dry low for their Tyndall coat.

Does the inside of the collar have a fleece lining? Is the vaporous gray color like an off white or very pale gray. Its hard to tell on my screen how light it is.  I definitely want a gray coat but not sure I like the metallic gray in the darker one.

Asked by: shells
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! TNF Tyndall Coat has a 100% nylon shell and lining, including the interior hood region. The interior of the neck area is lightly fleece-lined, however, to prevent any irritation when the zipper's pulled up. The Vaporous Grey is white and you can see hints of down throughout. The Metallic Silver is grey, but there isn't anything shiny about it. Hope this helps you out.

Is it waterproof?

Asked by: mms49
Hey MMS49, Thanks a lot for the question. The North Face Women's Tyndall Coat is not waterproof however, it is treated with a Durable Water Repellent that can be washed into the coat throughout the life of the garment.

550 fill is good for what temperature conditions?

Asked by: Prettyladyj9
Hey there, The higher number of the fill, the warmer a coat or sleeping bag will keep you and the more expensive it will be. 800-900 fill is the warmest and most expensive. 400-450 fill is at the lower end of warmth and cost. There are other considerations to consider like, what kind of activities are you planning to use the product for, what environment will you be in, do you get cold easily and making sure you take care of the product to have the longest life span possible. I hope this helps.
