DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moves with you The stretch feature of this jacket is legit. It moves with you and is not at all restrictive. I have a size small, 5’2”, 115 lbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket! I love the lightweight and the longer sleeve length of this jacket. It is going to be very easy to pack in a suitcase since it is not bulky. I wish it was a little longer, but it will be okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I bought this down jacket few months ago. It’s very light, and very warm down jacket. It has a soft feeling, and has feathers inside. Very nice to use during cold days and nights, can also use when it’s snowing or raining.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Bad.... I bought this for my mother, who wanted a warmer jacket than the ones that she has She loves the stretch down fabric,as do I, and it is a bit warmer than the ones she has, but I think that it could have more down in it-- it is still pretty thin. Ok for warmer weather, but not sure if it will really hold up when colder. It has nice feature: the zipper pulls and nice and it fits well, although a bit tight in the hips for a large. Nice fitting in the chest area and long sleeves with snug inner elastic on the cuffs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket I purchased this jacket as a birthday gift for my daughter and she loves it. She says it is comfortable, warm and lightweight. The stretch fabric is awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this jacket again Warm enough for Spring skiing out west without being too warm if the temperature went up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from women's Stretch Down Jacket I bought this jacket initially in a medium. I could zip it up, but it was too snug to wear a thick sweater underneath. I returned it for a large. There's plenty of room for a wooly sweater underneath. The jacket is very cozy when outside. I like it that the fabric doesn't make that rustling sound when you run the sleeve against the body when walking. The sleeves are a little long, but that's okay. It's chilly walking the dog at 5:30 am! Great jacket. The hood isn't too big either. It doesn't cover my eyebrows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and not too bulky Very happy with my purchase. Good price and great product. True to size - I ordered a M and plenty of room to wear with a heavy sweater. Normally a size 6. Small would probably have worked too if I wanted a more fitted look. Can't attest to durability as haven't had long enough yet.

Moving to Colorado Springs soon. Will this keep me warm enough during the winter months?

Asked by: lunabuna
Hiya lunabuna, thanks for your question! This jacket does not have a temperature rating. This is because warmth is subjective and depends on the person. That said... this is your basic warm puffy jacket, insulated with 550-fill down and designed to keep you toasty and comfortable. I would go for it! Hope this helps!

How is the hood on this coat? I noticed on some other North Face jackets the hood is small and barely covers the head.

Asked by: Leo T
Hi there Leo T, Great question. I just tried this jacket on myself, and the hood is a little on the small-ish side. I don't think it would work well at all with any sort of ski helmet, but might work with a light weigh knit cap. Don't hate me.

Hi! My other NF down jacket is a Medium and just a bit too snug and when I put a mid-layer on I can barely bend my arms. As a climber, I’m looking for a good stretchy alternative. I’m a size 6 typically. Should I size up to Large?

Asked by: Jules99
Thanks for the question! The Stretch Down Jacket has an "active fit" and you will not be able to fit much underneath. With out knowing the other jacket you have, I would suggest going up one size so you are comfortable with layers. Also, size Small is actually equivalent to a women's 4-6 and a Medium is equivalent to size 8-10. I hope this helps a little!

Is the rabbit grey really grey or is it more of a lavender grey?

Asked by: laurielynne
Thanks for the question! The Rabbit Grey color is definitely more lavender with Grey undertones. It is not solely your standard Grey. Hope this helps a little!
