The North Face Women's Nuptse 2 Jacket is a puffer jacket that will take you anywhere through the cold. The recycled taffeta exterior fabric protects the precious, fluffy 700 fill power down that has been carefully stuffed into the horizontal baffles. It's abrasion-resistant and even double-layered at the shoulders for strength against carrying a pack. Your own body heat gets trapped within the down to keep you warm whenever you're on the trail or even heading to school or work. It compresses down into it's own hand pocket when not in use and weighs just under 23 ounces, taking up little space in your pack. Feel free to use as a pillow on warmer nights, or wear it to sleep in frigid ones.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit I have a North Face 550 w/hood that's cute but too short so I ordered this one just to cover my waste and it fits perfect and I like the adjustable sleeves and the snug collar to keep cold wind out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i would most definately buy this again I am a barrel racer and spend alot of time outdoors riding horses, last year i bought my first North face jacket, i am hooked for life , I am a very small build person and when i get cold i am cold but when i ride i also need to be able to move freely , this jacket is perfect , the Louisiana weather is a damp cold and can be miserable, since my purchase of this jacket on cold days i stay warm with this and it looks great also and i am able to competitively run in it without it being bulky, i now have 3 of these , 1 is just for to town trips because they tend to get dirty fast working around animals and this way i always have 1 while others are being cleaned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Close to perfection! I have purchased and returned no fewer than 5 various down coats from a variety of brands looking to replace my 5-year-old beloved NF down liner and could never seem to find the right combination of lightweightedness, warmth and fit/comfort -- until I found this jacket. It's the best I've tried so it's a keeper. It's super warm; love the microfiber liner in the inside of the collar. The white color is surprisingly clean still after a few weeks of wear, including hours spent on dirty shooting ranges. It's great quality -- the fabric is tough enough to prevent feathers from being visible or poking through yet still soft. If it didn't have Velcro it would be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have bought this same coat 4 times. Moved from Seattle to Chicago and the winters in the Midwest are brutal. Bought my first Nuptse to combat the below zero wind chills. It was so amazingly warm. Nothing penetrates this coat. I can go for walks in freezing temps and stay very comfortable. Loved the Nuptse so much bought two more in different colors over the years. Been waiting for a Red Nuptse to come out. This is not a deep warm red but a cooler shade of red. Would rather it be a deep red. But will keep it because the Nuptse jackets are the warmest and most comfortable coat I can find. Lightweight to wear to the mall, yet warm enough to go hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Winter Coat My parents bought me this coat when I was in high school back in 2005/6 (I think), and while, of course, it wasn't this exact same coat, it was the same version at the time. The down on my coat is 550 and keeps me plenty warm in a place where we have up to -30* windchill winters - so it only means more warmth as a 700. I'm writing this review because it's becoming winter again and the past few weeks I thought I lost this coat due to moving and could not find it anywhere. I've always been in love with this coat, but thinking I lost it made me realize how amazing of a coat it actually is! Right away I was online trying to find the same one to buy had I not found it a couple days ago (although I should just get a new one due to wear of my aged one). Anyway, this coat is the best coat I've ever owned and hopefully will stick around for years to come as I believe it has become a coat I will continue buying. Like I said, I've had mine for at least 7 years now and it still holds great quality - the only reason I'd need a new one at this point is due to lost fluff; and that's only a personal preference. It has a great, sleek and timeless look. I love the fit, as it's not bulky or drowning like many coats, and allows shape for a waistline. I believe it's true to size - I'm 5'8", run around 130 lbs and wear a small...meaning length is good, as that's usually why I need to go up a size. While I have not worn this for skiing, I wouldnt be afraid to if I needed. PHENOMENAL product from TNF!!! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Functional Purchased as a Holiday gift for wife. She loves it! The color, Dramatic Plum, was just what she wanted. Living in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest she says she stays warm and dry with the 700 fill goose down insulation and appreciates the soft fleece collar when she needs to zip it up to block out the wind and cold. Perfect fit and shape for the active woman who wants style and function. Wears medium: 5'5"/125 lbs.

How warm. Is this jacket? Is it good for the cold, snowy northeast winters? Thanks.

Asked by: Elie
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Actually, this coat does not have a temperature rating. In fact, most coats do not have temperature ratings. This is for several reasons. Mainly, it's because warmth is a subjective thing, unique to each person. Not only that, but there are other factors that can affect a person's (jacket's) warmth: wind, humidity, activity level, what else your wearing, etc. However, there are still helpful hints you can use to guide you. Best bet will be to check the insulation. The higher the fill, the warmer the jacket. That should be your basic rule of thumb. For this jacket, it has a 700 Fill goose down insulation. That's a good sign that this jacket will be keeping you warm. Hope this helped you out!

Is this jacket suitable for skiing?

Asked by: Hmw22
Hiya Hmw22, thanks for your question! It is actually more of a casual jacket. The North Face has many other jackets suitable for skiing. Such as: The North Face Women's Lucia Hybrid Down Jacket The North Face Women's Hickory Pass Jacket The North Face Women's Upandover Triclimate Jacket Hope this helps!

Is this good for camping and hiking?

Asked by: dina
Thanks for the question! The Nuptse 2 is more of a casual winter jacket. I would not use it for camping or hiking because it does not have any wind or water protection. Also, the material can tear easily if it gets caught on a branch or something sharp. I would actually consider a Triclimate instead. That way you will have the insulation, as well as protection from the elements. I included a link below for my suggestion. Hope this helps a little!
