Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! I've finally found the perfect coat to combat cold Minnesota winters! I've always stuck to peacoat-type coats during winter because I couldn't find a puffer that wasn't too bulky or just plain ugly. This one is super warm, the hood is adjustable so it actually stays on (and doesn't ruin my hair at the same time), the length is great (I'm 5'8-1/2" and it hits my right above the knee) and the pockets are fleece lined and really warm, too. The fit is pretty true to size - I bought the Small, but the XS worked, too. The Small allowed a bit more flexibility and room in the arms and chest. I couldn't recommend this coat enough - buy it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits for curvy figure I'm 5'6" and a curvy 155 lbs with a bust and the large fits well. I ought the coat for bus and train commuting to New York City. The coat is lightweight and long which is perfect because I often wear dresses with tights. The coat is very warm in 30-40 F weatHer but I feel that when the temperature really dips , I need another layer under the coat . I tried a few other costs from north face and this was the best fit for the warmth. You can also unzip it from the bottom if it's too restrictive for walking which is a plus. You can go crazy reading reviews for these things. My best advice is to order 2 or 3 different styles and send back what does not work .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was looking forward to finally purchasing this jacket but was disappointed to see that the down-fill had decreased from 600 to 550 for the same price as the higher fill, why would you do that? I really do not like the North Face logo being the same color as the jacket. It was nice to have it pop with white on black. Also, the feather were popping out all over this jacket after a week of wearing it. Unfortunately, I cannot return it now that I have worn it. I like the older model much better. For less money, LLBEAN offers a similar jacket with 800 down fill.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Somewhat disappointed This jacket was bought with a Russian winter trip in mind. I am disappointed to say that in the cold, windy, 15°f weather in Moscow, I WAS FREEZING. I was wearing at least 3-4 layers underneath and was still very very cold. I now consider this my Russian fall coat. Just today I pulled it out for the mild winter that Georgia can bring and it only kept me warm a few minutes into my walk! I think it is perfect for 40° Slightly windy weather but any colder or windier and you will be cold. Not worth the money- I probably could have gotten a warmer coat for a third of the price. Otherwise it is cute, and somewhat warm- if not windy and not below ~35-40°

What is the difference between TNF/TNF black and just TNF black? I noticed the two in your color selection. Is this coat shiney or flat black?

Asked by: Mary
Hiya Mary, thanks for your question! TNF Black / TNF Black version has a striped lining. TNF Black is solid black inside and out. Sorry for the confusion!

Any difference between this and The North Face Miss Metro parka or just styling.

Asked by: Carolanne
Hiya, thanks for your question! Both jackets are similar in many ways, however, there are a few differences. The Miss Metro has 1111 grams of insulation while the Metropolis has 850 grams. The materials differ from polyester iridescent taffeta and satin twill lining on the Miss Metro to a polyester/nylon blend exterior and 100% nylon lining on the Metropolis. The design is different, as the Metropolis has contoured quilting around the waist for a more fitted look. Overall, the Metropolis is a little less luxurious than the Miss Metro, but it is still an excellent choice! Hope this helps!

Which is warmer - Metropolis or Miss Metro?

Asked by: Emily
Hiya Emily, thanks for your question. Both have 550 Fill down insulation, but the Miss Metro has 1111 grams of insulation while the Metropolis has 850 grams, so the Miss Metro is the warmer option. Hope this helps!

How do you clean this parka? Can I dry clean it?

Asked by: Reading Raven
Hey there, Thanks for the question, The North Face recommends having your down garments professionally cleaned by a service that specializes in down, but you can also wash it yourself if you wish. Put it through the rinse cycle twice, to be sure the detergent residue washes out. You can dry your jacket in a low temperature dryer, and if necessary, use a cool iron. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners, dry clean, or store when wet.

The Miss Metro looks quite shorter in length than the Metropolis II.....true?

Asked by: Courtney
HIya Courtney, thanks for your question! The styling might impact the appearance of the length. Both parkas measure 38 inches in length. Hope this helps!

I am interested in this coat in the vaporous grey color. It looks ivory in all the photos I see of it. Is it slower to ivory than grey?

Asked by: btwirth
Heyo! Thanks for the awesome question. The Vaporous Grey jacket is ivory with a grey lining, when you wear it everyone will be super jealous. Hope this helps!
