Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect cold weather coat I am so happy I found this coat! I purchased the black so I can wear it everyday with anything and it looks stylish. I am 5'9"/160lbs and would typically wear a medium. However, because this jacket is a heavier weight and I'll be wearing it on colder days, I purchased the large. The fit is comfortable and somewhat fitted, but doesn't look huge like a lot of the winter coat's I've seen. I've only had this coat for a month and have gotten a ton of use from it. Two negatives that haven't been a deal breaker are that the zipper get's stuck once in awhile and the hood doesn't cover my face as well as I would like if it's pouring rain. But again, I love this jacket and am very happy with the purchase. .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great warm rain jacket I live in the Pacific Northwest and this is an awesome weight for 35-50 and raining. I have been searching for a rain coat that doesn't leave me freezing, and this is it! The lichen color is beautiful. I'm tallish, 5'10'', but with a long torso and arms. The coat doesn't fit great - I got a medium for the arm length and shoulder width, and it's almost long enough in the arms and fits well in the shoulders. It's very baggy around the middle and even the drawstring waist can't fix that. Also - the drawstring hits above my natural waist, so it's just a bit awkward. BUT - it keeps me dry and warm and that was the goal, so it's a total keeper! This is the warmth in a rain jacket I've been searching for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Makes a lot of noise I contemplated returning this jacket due to the amount of noise it makes when the material moves in the slightest. I'm hoping that it will tone down with wear, otherwise I just threw away over $200. The fit is perfect, it's not as warm as I would have liked, but it is a perfect jacket for a cool, early fall day. I was hoping to wear this for colder days while watching my children's outdoor sports activities, but I don't think it's warm enough for that. It's really a lightweight jacket for brisk weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for I was so happy to find this jacket. I wanted one that was longer and one that would repel rain and snow. It fits my needs perfectly. I'm 5'3'', athletic build, and picked the medium jacket. The size and length (meets halfway between my hips and my knees) were perfect and it allows me to move comfortably and wear multiple layers underneath. My only complaint is that the zipper gets stuck easily unless you line it up juust right. But that might be something that could be fixed in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice coat, but..... I really was hoping that this jacket would work for me, but being large busted and high waisted (but not plus size) pretty much precludes me from wearing most TNF coats and jackets. I am an active senior so I tried a 3 in 1 and the Ancha parka but had to return both. Ended up with the Tomales Bay jacket and the thermolball jacket both in XL. Not everyone who wants a TNF jacket or coat is a skier so please make some of your jackets with a looser fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from waterproof and warm!! exactly what I was looking for in a fall jacket: waterproof, warm, stylish, covers my butt, and a reasonable price. I'd say that it runs a bit small, I'm 5'8 150 lbs, usually a medium (which is what I ordered) and it's a bit more snug than I would've expected. love it though, can still layer it over a sweater! definitely recommend for fall in the northeast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect coat for me I am someone who runs "hot" all the time in winter jackets. I purchased this coat for me to wear in winter weather here in Michigan. Although it is listed as a "Spring weather" coat, the quilted lining keeps me comfortably warm, without the excess weight and bulk of most winter jackets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would buy in all colors I absolutely love how comfortable this Parka feels. It's warm and I look stylish all at the same time. I felt it was a bit small for Medium because it literally fits perfectly and I would like to have a bit more room for when I wanted to layer crazy. But other than that I couldn't be more happier. I hate wearing hoods because of how crazy I look but I actually wear the hood with this jacket because I still look stylish without looking like i'm just trying to be warm with a big hood that's bigger than my face. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!!!

How warm is this jacket

Asked by: Pattie57
Hey there, Thanks for the question. The North Face doesn't provide temperature ratings for their products so we can't give an exact temperature that this would be warm to, however, the Ancha Parka is a shell parka designed for spring weather. It's primary function is to keep you dry, but it also contains some light insulation (100 g of Heatseeker™ synthetic insulation), so it works best on cooler spring days. It would not work as a stand-alone jacket in winter weather as it is not designed for extreme or winter temperatures. I hope this helps.
